I think the animals are all suffering from depression, the camel, elephant and most of the monkeys especially.
The animals should be transfered to Calgary's zoo. They take better care of their animals than here.

we take the girls down to Calgary to visit the zoo at least once a year - it's where hubby & I had our first date! LOL
We got locked in, cuz we were snuggling in front of the lion's habitat and didn't realize the zoo was closed... LOL... **thinks of the memories**
I think they should slowly start emptying the zoo. They could probably make money from it.. Keep it open and focus ALL attention and money on a few animals.. The elephant for sure, and the tigers.. maybe. Then a few others ..
That way, the habitats can be a lot bigger. The focus can be specialized instead of random, and better care can be taken of the animals. Know what I mean?
overnight program? PSH!! when I was in Girl Guides we only stayed at the Telus world of science, Fort Edmonton and the Mutart. We NEVER stayed in the zoo, awww... :( lol

I stepped down as a leader this year... tired of parents telling me how to run the program, but not willing to volunteer...LOL
my girls are still in it, I volunteer as a parent now. Way less stress & responsibility, which is just fine by me!
Never did the others, but my youngest is doing TWOS this year, and my 11yo is going to Drumheller to do a sleep over at the Tyrell... **ponders** hmmm... may have to volunteer for THAT one! LOL

I loved that place, although.. it was hard to sleep there. They had us in the star gazing room and we slept on the floor. The floor was tilted and they put on the stars for the night sky, they had crickets playing...
I couldn't sleep because I kept rolling into the chairs, tell your daughter to get a nice flat spot! lol

OK, first - we really WERE just snuggling, hubby has an obsession with lions, and they were actively moving around and it was just fascinating to watch.
We had NO idea the zoo closed as early as it did, and it was summer, so it was still daylight, so when we finally left there, we were walking along, going to go see the tigers (which, if you're familiar with the Calgary zoo, is at the opposite end, of course!), thinking how quiet it was all around us.
No big deal - it was a weekday, and we were kind of in our own little world, pretty much oblivious to everything around us. All of a sudden, this guy pulls up beside us in one of the zoo maintenance trucks, completely surprised that we're still there. Apparently, the zoo had closed an hour earlier. So he followed us up to the gate, and had to unlock it to let us out! Too funny, and a very memorable first date!
The lions were actually moving? my god.. I haven't seen any of those big cats move. They are always so lazy. lol
That is a cute first date, though!
yeah, if you catch them in early evening, they're quite active... and beautiful...

Vancouver... well it has a lot of possibilities, and if they moved recently, its probably because Vancouver has been booming for professionals... Edmonton is / was more of a crafts city (a lot of riggers start out here.. riggers are oil workers).. and Calgary.. well..... Not sure what THAT place has to offer, besides cowboys and stirrups.
You should stop by E-Town, it has changed so much in the last 20 years!!!!

yeah, the mall rats make me nervous... but I love going in there in winter when it's cold and no one else is stupid enough to be out... ;)
Where I live, drugs are a huge things. Too many kids with their parents money. They go and buy things.. (Meth and Cocaine are HUGE in my city, there have been so many Meth labs that have been "scattered")..... It's a shame.
I love the dragon, too. But I must admit.. I take advantage of it. Lol, I forget about it half the time!
I'm not a fan of Empire theatres .. never really got into it.. I prefer cineplex for many reasons. lol

yeah, I don't know how I could live in a neighbourhood where the parents are the addicts, I would feel horrid for the kids and try to save them. .. yeah.
In MY city *giggle* it is the kids with the parents money. The families here (in the areas with the big drug problems) usually have parents who have a tad bit more money and they spoil their children. Of course - the children use that little bit of allowance and make meth labs. There are about 3 pizza places in my city that deal drugs over the country.. "Hi, I'd like a large donair pizza and a brick of w33d, please?" LOL!
I don't know.. I understand your logic, but I go to Cineplex for the screen size, and the tastier popcorn *giggle*. I just haven't let any of the Empire theatres grow on me.
Plus I have a scene card. lol!!
I saw HP Half blood prince twice in theatre, both at Cineplex, I like the big screen and the seats, so I guess I will put up with the screaming girls. My friend is big on politeness, so she always try's to force people to say excuse me or such. So she tells people often "You are being too loud for the rest of us" or "You are extremely rude having your cell phone off, please don't ruin the movie for everyone else - unless you plan on paying for our tickets" .. she even put a handful of popcorn on someone who checked their phone during a movie *giggle*
When I saw the NM trailer at the HP opening night, I was already giddy because it was midnight, but my friend and I were jumping in our seats. So funny. can't wait for New Moon. what is it now? 36 days?

Edmonton is pretty low on the murders and such for 2009, I think we are between 30 and 40 murders? not sure.
I am scared in some parts of Edmonton, so I was shaking in Vancouver when we went onto the "good street if you like to party, but bad street if you don't" as the Valet told us. lol. Peep shows, druggers and drunks, oh gosh Iwas scared. lol!
