NewMoonMovie.org: Can a Man Direct New Moon As Well as a Woman?

  • giaphoebe · 9 months ago
i don't know but when i heard a woman was going to direct Twilight i was like, oh special effects are going to be lame and apparently i was right. i was expecting more professional CGI like in Harry Potter which had all male directors. although male and female directors portray relationships and emotions on screen differently so it should be interesting how Chris Weitz handles that

Of course, unless he's a moron, which I doubt. If he reads the books it will come easy. And the book and script writter are both female. And Kristin Stewart can speak up if she doesn't feel it's being potrayed well enough, her and Robert both had opinions about Twilight that were used, look at the kissing scene. I am counting down to Nov. 20 2009!

sure can, if the guy is smart enough to take advice and options from females in order to help out a little and explore suggestions i think it would turn out great. Men have a sensitive side to them as well even if they dont/ wont admit it they do, and when their filming a "love story" their going to want it how they would like a love story to be in their minds. Men like to be in love just as much as females. also i think it would be interesting to see what a male can do with such stronge emotions that come from edward and bella in this book, it will also, help get a guys understanding across at how females may feel when they are dumbed or left w.e you say.

A guy can write romance and direct it sure, but look at how they generally portray women. In the Notebook, she's a confused, selfish rich girl that can't decide between money and love. Money, and love. For any romantic that is the easiest choice in the world. Of course since the road has already been paved I don't think a man would have troube with new moon. He might even have better insight on how to make the movie better with more background information and less cheesy scenes.

i can't say... but i do wish that the feelings and emotions in the novel is captured on screen. I have watched the Twilight movie probably 100 times trying to see Edward's conflicting emotions towards Bella and i must say I had to look really hard to pick up/ see them. i initially watched the movie without reading the novel and the movie left me somewhat dissatisfied with the plot. it is only when i read the novel and gained a greater insight of the characters did i honestly appreciate the movie to an extent. I just hope no matter who is directing it that this is rectified. I also find that the character of Alice left alot to be desired. I really liked her character and would love to see it developed more in the movie.

Yeah what does it matter, if a man or a woman or an alien (who knows how to direct lol) for that matter directs new moon or any of the upcoming movies, it's the actors/actresses which matter, it's not like you can see the director in every scene, though they are filming it, but the golden compass was rubbish but new moon will improve from it as we all learn from our mistakes.

    Bye for now!
