Nothing against Hudgens but I think what made Twilight successful was that the actors werent "mainstream" so to speak. There wasnt a pre-made image of them to compare to or whatnot their characters now. It is refreshing to watch actors that are somewhat new and 'underground' to play these characters from the book.

Leah Clearwater, ehh Vanessa Hudgens should be the last option, no offense. She's too cute and too perky looking. When I think Leah, I think strong features and almost mean looking because of the facade she's putting on.



Pls no Vanessa Hudgens. Yeah i dont see her at all as Leah. Just throwing it out there, I think I'm more physically suitable for the image. hahahah really she's too pretty and cute and bubbly and DISNEY. Yea too DISNEY.

I feel that the audience does not want to see famous Disney stars(characters) in a twilight movie. What I believe has made Twilight the movie a big success is the fact that the actors are fairly unknown. If Gabrielle(Vanessa), (because to all of us she is Gabrielle), gets the part of Leah, it will annoy the audience. It will be difficult to remain into the movie every time she is on film. We'll have to keep reminding ourselves that she is not Gabrielle. I would really like to see some unknown Native american have a shot at this. We are all kinda sick of High School Musical. Please keep it real for the fans!!!!

Vanessa Hudgens would bring a different kind of fan to the movie. Granted, that's probably what a lot of companies would like to see (money wise), but they absolutely WILL lose a lot of their fan base if this girl is cast. I completely agree with the above comment that the reason this movie did well is because they used many relatively unknowns. I've seen SOOO many "No Vanessa" postings here and other sites, that I don't think the director/producers will really consider her. However, if they do, what if that leads to casting Lindsey Lohan (former Disney chick, right?) as Emily, those twins (Cody & Zack) as Seth, Zach Efron as Paul, Ashley Tisdale as Jane. Think of the horror these true Twi-fans will endure.


As for Miss Kulcher... I think she'd be really good in the role, BUT she's Peruvian-German. Says so on her Wikipedia page. Why not give the part to an real Native American?

My opinion only~ These are actors. This is what they do. They take a role and make it happen. Look what happened with Robert Pattinson when he was cast as Edward. If she can prove to the powers that be that she can be Leah, who are we to pout. Yes, so she started out doing disney. Big deal. She can't remain 16 or whatever age her character is forever. None of us know her personally so give the girl a break and ease up on her. Physically no she doesn't fit the Leah I pictured but then that's why they have make-up.


However I do agree with some of the other poster's about the cast not being mainstream and how good that was for Twilight. That was brilliant on their part!! =D

Nothing against Hudgens but I think what made Twilight successful was that the actors werent "mainstream" so to speak. There wasnt a pre-made image of them to compare to or whatnot their characters now. It is refreshing to watch actors that are somewhat new and 'underground' to play these characters from the book.

Leah Clearwater, ehh Vanessa Hudgens should be the last option, no offense. She's too cute and too perky looking. When I think Leah, I think strong features and almost mean looking because of the facade she's putting on.

I feel that the audience does not want to see famous Disney stars(characters) in a twilight movie. What I believe has made Twilight the movie a big success is the fact that the actors are fairly unknown. If Gabrielle(Vanessa), (because to all of us she is Gabrielle), gets the part of Leah, it will annoy the audience. It will be difficult to remain into the movie every time she is on film. We'll have to keep reminding ourselves that she is not Gabrielle. I would really like to see some unknown Native american have a shot at this. We are all kinda sick of High School Musical. Vanessa Hudgens would bring a different kind of fan to the movie. Granted, that's probably what a lot of companies would like to see (money wise), but they absolutely WILL lose a lot of their fan base if this girl is cast. I completely agree with the above comment that the reason this movie did well is because they used many relatively unknowns. I've seen SOOO many "No Vanessa" postings here and other sites, that I don't think the director/producers will really consider her. However, if they do, what if that leads to casting Lindsey Lohan (former Disney chick, right?) as Emily, those twins (Cody & Zack) as Seth, Zach Efron as Paul, Ashley Tisdale as Jane. Think of the horror these true Twi-fans will endure.


As for Miss Kulcher... I think she'd be really good in the role, BUT she's Peruvian-German. Says so on her Wikipedia page. Why not give the part to an real Native American?

My opinion only~ These are actors. This is what they do. They take a role and make it happen. Look what happened with Robert Pattinson when he was cast as Edward. If she can prove to the powers that be that she can be Leah, who are we to pout. Yes, so she started out doing disney. Big deal. She can't remain 16 or whatever age her character is forever. None of us know her personally so give the girl a break and ease up on her. Physically no she doesn't fit the Leah I pictured but then that's why they have make-up.

well, personally i think everyones over reacting. its called ACTING. sorry, but just because she hasnt played an aggresive, mean role yet doesnt mean she is incapable of doing so. If she hadn't first been on Disney, not even half as many people would oppose. In my opinion she looks like Leah. I know thats MY opinion but no actor in the movie fit how everyone invisioned them. Like Edward. Many people were mad at first, but now almost everyones saying he was great. And a lot of comments on here are saying shes too "weak" to play leah. well... Taylor Lautner doesnt exactly fit Jacob for strength, but hes great. And hes working out hard-core. I'm pretty sure Vanessa Hudgens can do the same.
and if you really, strongly oppose Vanessa Hudgens being in 5 minuets of the movie, dont not go see it because of those 5 minuets! well, personally i think everyones over reacting. its called ACTING. sorry, but just because she hasnt played an aggresive, mean role yet doesnt mean she is incapable of doing so. If she hadn't first been on Disney, not even half as many people would oppose. In my opinion she looks like Leah. I know thats MY opinion but no actor in the movie fit how everyone invisioned them. Like Edward. Many people were mad at first, but now almost everyones saying he was great. And a lot of comments on here are saying shes too "weak" to play leah. well... Taylor Lautner doesnt exactly fit Jacob for strength, but hes great. And hes working out hard-core. I'm pretty sure Vanessa Hudgens can do the same.
and if you really, strongly oppose Vanessa Hudgens being in 5 minuets of the movie, dont not go see it because of those 5 minuets! I mean, take a bathroom break or something! go buy some food then come back when the 5 minuets are over. so see? works out for everyone. if you hate her in the movie and during the movie you really want some nachos or something you can be like "oh god! i need some nachos!! ....but i dont want to miss any of the movie... Oh look! ewww vanessa hudgens. Nacho break!" =)

Personally I would like to see her play the part so i can see her play a role so different from usual. but, i know not a lot of people feel that way (obviously). but maybe just give her a chance, or get some nachos.

I think physically Vanessa Hudgens fits Leah Clearwater perfectly. So I don't know why everyone is freaking out just because she got launched from Disney. Taylor Lautner was shark boy in Shark boy and Lava girl which was a children's Nickelodeon movie. I think if she is auditioning then we should just leave it up to the professionals I mean Taylor turned out to be awesome as Jacob. All we have seen Vanessa in is High school musical so who are we to judge maybe she can pull it off. A lot of Disney and Nickelodeon stars have branched out. Shia Labeouf ring a bell?

i dont think vanessa hudgens or brenda song should be considered for new moon. i think it would be hard for vanessa to break that clean bubble-gum girl image that she's created for herself through disney; to me personally it doesnt seem that she's the time of person with a strong enough personality to make this great a leap. vanessa was good in the high school musical movies, but its goin to be difficult for her to break that typecaste; even zac efron couldnt completly break out of his role for hairspray, he still gt chosen to be part of a musical, nothing too far off base for him.
im not sure who i'd like to see play leah, but id rather it was someone who could actually be leah, not just a candy coated covering

Oh my god noo please they can't try and ruin new moon for all us twilight fans out there! number 1 she doesnt look a thing like leah. number 2
leah is meant to be a girl depressed with her life having to see her true love every single day and seeing him incredibly infatuated with her cousin, she has to see how much he is in love with emily all the while feeling the rejection of being dumped by the perfect guy in her eyes, then she has to deal with being the only female werewolf and having her true love as her leader. as if becoming a werewolf wasn't depressing enough as it is. no offence but i really don't think that childish excuse for a real actress would make the cut

I honestly think she's perfect for the part. Yeah, she seemed too sweet as Gabrielle because the role calls for it. But when you look at her regular pics...she has a certain mysterious/wild/sexy aura beneath. Let's give her a chance people.
