i then did some quick research on stephenie meyer also on wiki and it has this to say about twilight "Meyer says that the idea for Twilight came to her in a DREAM on June 2, 2003. The dream was about a human girl, and a vampire who was in love with her but thirsted for her blood. Based on this DREAM, Meyer wrote the transcript of what is now Chapter 13 of the book. Despite having VERY little writing experience, in a matter of three months she had transformed that vivid dream into a completed novel." Well surprise surprise! The book series that true blood is based on is about a human girl and a vampire who is in love with her and thirsts for her blood! Now, in True Blood the main female character can read minds but not that of her love interest who is the vampire and whose mind is closed to her! Stephenie changed this to Edward, the vampire, being able to read minds but not that of his HUMAN love interest, this would be Bella, as her mind is somehow closed to him! is it not entirely possible that steph read the first couple of books in the series and then dreamt about them thus coming up with the idea for the twilight series?! i know that i have dreamt about books/characters after i have gone to sleep after reading them and i'm sure i'm not the only one. the name of the series that true blood is based on is "the southern vampire mysteries" if any of you don't believe me, and i'm sure that this will probably start alot of verbal bashing, why not check out charlaine harris and also steph meyer on wiki and make up your own minds....
Plus, I have heard of a few other series about vampires falling in love with humans, and though they have some similarities, I think if Stephenie Meyer had plagiarized another author's idea, we would have heard about it in the news (being that Twilight is such a hit). I'm sure if the author that wrote the series you are describing had thought Stephenie stole her idea, she would have sued, or something along that line.

But The Sookie Stackhouse series is a thousand times different than Twilight. The entire world knows about these vampires. Some of the vampires drink Japanese synthetic blood. Sookie is a 20-some year old telepath that works at a bar and her boss is a shape-shifter(he can turn into any animal). She goes out with this vampire named Bill for a while, and then starts going out with a 1,000 year old Viking vampire. She also is invloved with a weretiger for a little bit. Sookie has fairy blood, and has a fairy godmother named Claudine. She has a roommate named Amelia that is a witch. Her brother is part werepanther after being bitten by a full-blooded one. Her grandmother was brutally murdered by a vampire hater because he was trying to get to Sookie and she was in the way. There is also a church called Fellowship of the Sun that consists of vampire haters. They have kingdoms and queendoms. Oh, and quite graphic sex scenes.

They can do so many things to make Taylor seem taller, too. And it's not like a little variation from the book won't be seen in other parts of the movie. So maybe the theatrical Jacob will be 5"11...you know Edward didn't reveal himself to Bella on a hill in the Twilight BOOK, as the movie had it played out.
Taylor is the perfect Jacob and I'm glad he will be reprising his role!!
and also people haven't even seen new moon yet, so how do you know that they aren't digitally fixing it so it makes jacob really really big!
I think Taylor's a great actor, and he did what he needed to for the role of Jacob (he put on thirty pounds of muscle!) And he deserves to be Jacob because he's worked so hard for it.
I really don't care if taylor will always be jake.. I'm sure they could though.
The most important thing is that the movie is really close to the book... I even hope they won't overdo it and put too much Edward in it for the sake of rob obsessed fans..

A lot of girls here in South Africa is obsessed the Twilight Saga, and we love the thought of the Covenant hottie as Jacob.
After all, Edward and Jacob are only characters in a brilliant novel

and coincidentally, my last name actually is Cullen! it would be really wierd if I lived in washington, but I live on the opposite side of the country in Florida! And I love the series, and I think the movies are ok, but will never capture the essence of the movie in my head while I am reading it.

^^ watch it, taylor has got more muscle and besides they can make him look bigger with angles and stuff, they dont NEED to recast him. iv read all of the books and think he fits the role perfectly, because in the first book hes described as looking his age, maybe a little older. but when she sees him again hes grown loads(several months later, in new moon) so when we see him in the movie it will be like wow he got bigger, which he has because the actor put on alot of muscle for the part. anyways you lot need to chill out, its only an actor and everyone has an opinion. + you spelt R-E-T-A-R-D-E-D wrong.
And in all fairness, when I first heard Rob would be Edward, I was sceptical on how he'd play the part. But he blew me away. Full credit to him for that.

I really really love the books so I really had high expectations on twilight, and now even more so on new moon. But the cast was well chosen.. and Rob is a good actor..
but I feel sorry for him cause he hasn't got a bit of privacy. actors are only human. just leave them be and stop gossiping about their private life.
After seeing The Golden Compass twice and absolutely loving it, and finding out that Chris Weitz is the director for both The Golden Compass and soon to be New Moon, I can instantly tell the movie will be much better than Catherine's horrible reenactment of Twilight.
My opinion- Catherine Hardwick needs to stick to her "I'm going to cut myself and do drugs" teen movies. Chris Weitz, rock on for New Moon. Taylor Lautner met the requirements and his agreement to gain 30 pounds, so we as fans of the books and movies need to be patient. Stephenie Meyer needs to finish Midnight Sun so it can be a movie and we can have another better version of Twilight to look at because the original is horrible.
Rob made me a little irritated too.... I think he will do better in New Moon.... but just the way he was talking it seemed like he didn't have a good grasp on his role... which showed to me. And that he wasn't really into it very much.... which bugs me.
The Sparkle seen wasn't the best.... but I get that.... It can't be easy to make that look natural.. I think it was ok considering the budget.
I'm sooooooooooooooooo glad New Moon will have a bigger budget and a new directer..... I can't wait to see what they do...... cause honestly it really can't be worse than Twilight.

I thought Catherine did an excellent job in directing Twilight as was sad to here she wouldn't be directing New Moon, but was glad to here that Chris was directing.

I mean, you dont really see him so much in Twilight, and in New Moon onwards hes a major character. you cant make a kid look 9 years older, unless you have some major and amazing special effects.
and it really doesnt help that taylor is a horrible actor and doesnt really suit the part. i dont think he can seriously act like a mature adult, a kid, and a pissy person. he's just not that good.

in the harry potter series, you have dumbledore. they have had 2 dumbledores, so obviously different, and yet it still works.

They make Hagrid and the Beauxbatons Headmistress look huge in HP, they can certainly make anyone look taller in a movie, didn't anyone see Lord of the Rings with all those "tiny" Hobbits? :)
Taylor's natural height shouldn't be a factor, but it's good he's putting on some muscle. He has the easy going smile and the natural outgoing charisma and warmth that Jacob is described as having, which is more important than height or weight, which can all be faked with costuming. I think it would be weird seeing someone else being Jacob, because Taylor IS Jacob now.. I'm not speaking in the name of a Taylor-fan, so that wouldn't make me biased (i'm more a Rob fan, he's more around my age, and better :p)
And if his height is the only problem, it wouldn't be one thanks to our fast developing technology (that i'm surely not specialized in ^^, but i believe they could figure it out)
By the way: it is already decided, so we should 'chillax' and enjoy (waiting of) the movie. I think it would be great!

Personally i didnt like how taylor acted jake out in the movie.. I thought he was kinda too serious.. And not like kiddy-like.. har to explain. Sorta liked him in the beach scene though ^^ I would have liked him to be replaced. If he was a great actor i wouldnt care less about looks.. but the case is.. he is not. And bringing lord of the rings into this.. they had a budget that is prob new moons budget multiplied with carlies age!!! They had the capasity too do great special effects.. new moon doesnt have that money,,,

It would make Twilight even more HSM-ish, i'm already annoyed by the fact that some ppl compare it now.. It would get 10000 times worser if those plastics actually join the cast.. *can't even think about it without shivering*

Why be mad at Stephenie? You're acting like she OWES you this book, when really - she doesn't. Midnight Sun was meant to be a surprise for all the twilighters, and once it got illegally leaked, you can't expect her to just carry on writing like nothing happened. She's said so herself that now she just isn't in the same state of mind that she was in before, therefore, the book wouldn't be the way she wanted it to be.
I mean, seriously - have some respect for her, she's created something SO amazing for us, yet you feel she has to write this book for you, no matter how she feels?
And the only reason she put the Midnight Sun draft on her site is to stop people feeling guilty about reading it on other untrustworthy sites. And you know what? She did that out of care.
If you're so desperate for the book to be published, why read it now? Don't you want to read it for the first time in the way it's meant to be (i.e. published, bound, etc.)...I'm so not reading it until that happens...

I think it would be weird seeing someone else being Jacob, because Taylor IS Jacob now.. I'm not speaking in the name of a Taylor-fan, so that wouldn't make me biased (i'm more a Rob fan, he's more around my age, and better :p)
And if his height is the only problem, it wouldn't be one thanks to our fast developing technology (that i'm surely not specialized in ^^, but i believe they could figure it out)

I think Dakota fanning would be great for the role of jane and I am so glad Taylor is official foe the role of Jacob :) they need to keep vanessa hudgens out of themovie because in my opinion she would completely t r a s h new moon...I don't think she is expirenced enough to be that diverse in her acting and is best to stick with the disneys hsm fanbase and movie material.. also I believe that cathrien did a beautiful interpretation of twilight but I am hopeful with the new director and sure that he will do themovie justice ;) I can't wait for the next movie and I am always checkin this website for new updates ;) ;d I'm team Cullen- black ♥

I am a twilighter with OCD and I'm going literally out of my head over it, but I might calm down a little
when New Moon comes out, but I'll be going on a hype again waiting for eclipse and so on and so forth.

Sorry if I offended any of you bella fans, because I loved her in the book, but she was terrible in the movie.
But I am excited about New Moon, I hope she does better in that one!

Personally i didnt like how taylor acted jake out in the movie.. I thought he was kinda too serious.. And not like kiddy-like.. har to explain. Sorta liked him in the beach scene though ^^ I would have liked him to be replaced. If he was a great actor i wouldnt care less about looks.. but the case is.. he is not. you should have heard what I heard this girl say to me once. She said that she hated the job Kirsten Stewart did and thinks that Miley Cyrus would have done a wayyy better job and Im like WHAT THE HELL?! Personally, I think Miley Cyrus is one of the worst actors I have even seen, like seriously I once saw her doing a crying scene and it was one of the funniest things! She couldnt even let one freaking tear come out of her eye! oh yeah....for those of you who want to watch the movie twilight but dont want to download anything or mess up your computer just go to youtube and type in twlight full movie part one or something close to that just make sure it has the words TWILIGHT MOVIE PART ONE IN IT you will get a lot of options and stuff and after you watch the first one you have to search for part two it will take a while to get the whole movie finished (trust me....i would know) but at least you get to watch it you will get very frustrated

But the fact of the matter is that it's not Edward's hair. In New moon, they have to make sure they put a

Rob made me a little irritated too.... I think he will do better in New Moon.... but just the way he was talking it seemed like he didn't have a good grasp on his role... which showed to me. And that he wasn't really into it very much.... which bugs me.
The Sparkle seen wasn't the best.... but I get that.... It can't be easy to make that look natural.. I think it was ok considering the budget.
I'm sooooooooooooooooo glad New Moon will have a bigger budget and a new directer..... I can't wait to see what they do...... cause honestly it really can't be worse than Twilight.

Love me, hate me, I don't care. I'm entitled to my own damn opinion. I think there were far better choices than Kristen, and it was not acted upon.
kirsten cannot act! the hospital scene was just horrible and she looks stoned throughout the whole movie. and i guess she tried to act more shy because bella is shy, but she did it all wrong and she just came off as looking awkward.
i think taylor lautner is perfect for jacob! okay maybe he doesnt physically look like the jacob when he becomes the werewolf but who cares? as long as he gets jacob's personality and emotion, im perfectly okay with him not being tall enough. for me he looks very much like jacob.
And by the way, Bella IS awkward. Have you read the books? Up until chapter 20 int he last book, Bella is awkward because she's a klutz; she clumsy!
Now, Rob I think is gorgeous...but then again, the acting side is just not quite enough. I hope he does better on the 2nd and 3rd installment of this movie. I think eveyone just made a big deal of his acting is because he played the character of someone so darn sexy and attractive -- that is, of course, EDWARD CULLEN. I bet if it was played by someone else, they would've gotten the same response from the EDWARD CULLEN'S FANS. Don't you guys agree? But, yes, ROBERT IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS...beautiful is not enough to describe this guy.
Taylor...OMG! This young actor is something else. How I wish he had more parts in the 1st Twilight movie. His acting is so natural, handsome young man, and you can really see the potential on this little guy. I think if he was in more scenes on the first movie, he would've stolen some of the "attention" and "popularity" that was placed on Robert -- er, Edward Cullen. Don't you guys agree? I can't wait to see how he plays the Jacob character in this 2nd film. I think it's his turn to shine -- and he will get that chance in this 2nd film.
I'm not a Robert or Taylor fan (nor Kristen) -- just someone who really LOVED the characters in S. Meyer's Twilight series. I LOVE EDWARD CULLEN -- the perfect guy, really. I just wished the 1st movie did some justice to what the story really is about. I wish they stick more to what was portrayed in the book rather than the "hollywood" aspect of it.

I did see a little bit of the Little Ashes preview, and watching him there, I completely forgot that this is the same guy who played Edward Cullen. You see what I mean? His acting in Little Ashes, I think, is awesome! I only saw a little bit, but I thought it was very interesting. Unlike in Twilight, you can kinda tell that it's just acting...oh well, he's still gorgeous no matter what.
Let's just all hope he does much BETTER in the 2nd and 3rd film....

not saying that he's not good eye candy, but he was way to awkward in twilight. and i didnt like how jacob and bella meet at the beginning of the movie, and not a la push as is in the book. steven strait should have been casted as jacob in the beginning in my opinion! ..hopefully taylor does a better job in new moon.. and if they do decide to keep taylor in the rest of the movies, he MUST do a better job, because jacob's charcter gets even more intense

I for one like both Edward and Jacob because I have been in Bella's place(confused about two guys, the dreamy one and the one that makes me laugh.)
If anyone changed the casting it would be pretty sad because their the people you get used to in the movie. But I am with a lot of people saying that the Disney Channel girls shouldnt be in the movie. If they were and they played the part well, I could get used to them. Some of you are a little closed minded and a little mean.

What I'm looking forward in New Moon is how Bella enters her zombie ages and how Edward just ditches her in the forest. It makes me cry just thinking about it, but I always go under- if a movie makes me cry, it's a REALLY good movie. hahah And I am so looking forward to seeing the Volturi!
However one thing they HAVE to get right is the soundtrack. I don't want any weird off topic songs, i want the best and most emotional songs that go with the scenes they were in!

And I think it's good that Rob will be featured so much in the movie but they definately can't go overboard, he has to be present somewhere and the flickering images etc will be a good representation of his 'voice' to her. Which, by the way, I still don't understand? Was the voice just her imagination in the end?

Also Kristin needs to step up too! I don't know if she'll be able to pull off Bella's depression when Edward leaves. In twilight she wasn't like the bella i imagined AT ALL. I believed she was happy but shy at the same time. She came across so diferent, and it just wasn't how i imagined it. Kristin seems like a good actor I just hope she steps up!!

Sweet-imaged girls doesn't fit any role in the movie except for Alice.
Her hair is different in New Moon than in Twilight.
From what I saw, it isn't that spiky anymore.
The cast's eye colors or contacts had a different shade.
More noticeable which means lighter than they had in Twilight.
In fact, I love their new look.
For me, they look like vampires even more than they looked in Twilight.
Their wardrobe improved, too. :)

anway-when Twilight was released onto DVD, i watched it and was hooked! i swore that i would never be twiobsessed. but i guess i am now.. lmao. after buying the movie and watching it over and over- i decided to go out on a limb and buy the books[all of them]. i read them twilight to breaking dawn in a week and was so upset when i finished, that i read them all over again- cover to cover. i then watched the movie and was disappointed. the movie felt super rushed, and left out so much. i love how Edward asks Bella to sit with him at lunch and then that goes into the bloodtyping- but it was missing from the movie :( alot of people are bashing KStew, i personally think she did wonderfully, she was my exact image of Bella. Rob did well with Edward, but sometimes he looked like he was in pain, instead of being worried/in love.
another thing that bugs me SO MUCH is that "I love you" was NEVER said in the movie. WTF? i mean if you didn't figure out that they were head over heals in love you would have never known. how the hell do they expect to pull off the proposal? im praying New Moon will hold true to the book, unlike most of Twilight.

Anyway, it isn't a new story but what is? They say there are only seven stories anyway don't they? It is a great story, I'm 32 and my daughter is 12 and both of us have twilight syndrome pretty bad!! How many stories cross over generations like that?
All of the characters in the book are really hard to cast and everone has their own image of what they should look like.
I mean Rosalie is supposed to be the most beautiful woman in the world! No actor can live up to that, and i think Nikki Reed did an amazing job of portaying Rosalie.
And Alice, she is supposed to be 4'10''. Ashley Greene is obviously not that short, but they casted her the best they could.
And Edward is supposed to be totally ripped with a perfect body etc. Rob obviously does not have a 6 pack, or any muscles really...but they casted him the best they could.
Like all the other actors in Twilight
Taylor was casted because he was the actor who best fit the role! Quit sulking about him. There are lots a tricks they can use like camera angels, CGI and having Taylor walk on a higher piece of ground!! He has worked so hard for this role(putting on 30 pounds of muscle) and has earned it.
Taylor is a good choice for jacob. And give him a break, he only had like 5 mins in the first film and didnt really get to show off his acting skills at all.
You shouldnt judge him before he has even given a performance. Totally understandable after the movie has been released if you dont like him. But back off guys
Plus she has played in horror movies, Hide and Seek more importantly action movies, Push (which was a great movie). She has definatly earned her role. I am excited to see how well she actually does.

In Twilight I didn't paticularly rate Taylor Laurent as Jake, but watching soo many New Moon trailors and snippets, I actually thinks he fits the part well for the saga. He looks much more sutiable as hes made an effort to tone up to suit that part.
Hmm, Kristen Stewart? To be honest I didn't like her in Twilight that much, I'm not sure why. I think her acting seemed really awkward and something about her facial expression and how tense she was killed some of the chemistry. Then again, I look at the New Moon trailer and I actually think that she's improved in this film and her portrayal of Bella's depression etc seems pretty accurate.
They've changed the director for New Moon, so I'm hoping that the film is as good as the trailer! I love how dark and dramatic it seems and i'm hoping the director and actors have managed to show the feeling of the book well.
Once I'd read Twilight I was a bit disappointed at the film because i was hoping that it would be close to the book, as I loved the book so much I wanted to see it acted out word for word! But on the other hand, the film has to be made so that people who haven't read the books can actually understand the plot and characters. It's harder to portray a character in media than it is in literature! The scenes and lines have to be more obvious and easier to understand. I was disappointed when Jaspar's ability was ignored but then again, it would be complicated to show how he can manipulate people's feelings as there is nothing much the actors can physically do to show this and make the audience understand what's happening!
To the person that decided that Twilight was a rip-off of another book. It does seem like a huge coincidence, but there are a few vampire books which I've read which are similar to this. Imprinting comes from legends and did not originate from the book you described as do many other legends such as shape-shifters and vampires.

I actually heard that Stephenie Meyer wanted the girl from 'A series of unfortuanate events' to play Bella when they were first casting for Twilight, which I think may have been a good choice as she has the porcelain looks! However I think that Kristen Stewart may have improved for the next film as I've said. Can't wait to see what the vampire Bella looks like!
Ooh and for those who don't know, Stephine Meyer is actually in the Twilight film in the scene where Bella's with her dad in the cafe/restaurant! Keep your eyes peeled :)

I just watched the new trailer yesterday and I can't wait to see the movie! I am a mother of 3, but hope to be one of the first in line with some of my girlfriends who are also big fans.
Also the film was made pretty badly. Good for fans, but really....Catherine was the wrong director. All the actors know it, have said it tactfully.
It would have been weird to replace Taylor, but if they were going to do it, they should have done it then before he got a major role in it.
