rob is perfect though, the way he portrays edward is captivating. like how sad/torn he looks in this clip....it's brilliant.
and kristen's voice is monotomous, like it's the same pitch throughout the movie. when she said " i love you" it sounded like she was placing an order at mcdonalds, not declaring her love for edward.
but all in all, i think they will do wonderfully in this movie. can't wait until sunday for the trailer!

I saw her more like a pouting little brat secure of her man already, and annoyed of his carrying on but with an underlined understanding of his reaction .
At this point she’s been with him long enough to feel comfortable to ask him for a kiss without that awkward eyebrow lift look in her face and on top of that she’s supposed to be irritated
A hundred things going through her mind and more worried than happy….<--(even in that short scene that should have came across her facial expression )
There was supposed to be more tenderness in her eyes
Sorry she looked like herself embarrassed asking Rob for a kiss instead of Bella asking Edward

All I know is KStew doesn't appreciate kissing him the way we all would-ha ha! I'd be like, can we do a retake???? I did hear the Italy kiss took 6 takes............ahhh, my dream come true. Boy, it's clear on these posts that we all interpreted her emotions differently during that period of the book. I thought she was trying to be happy/enthusiastic in the hopes of making him feel like its' all okay. But it's natural to project how yo uwould feel what you would do onto someone else. This Rob obsession is draining-ha ha!!

I honestly think I conflicts with her acting abilities . But who can blame her?
My guess is though that between filming in Vancouver and Italy is when the trailer was made! From the 15secs we got that is my impression, what do you think?
ok; i have the book infront of me right now..in the book; this scene actually occurs when they leave the party; if this is in fact the scene...they leave; and edward attitude kinda change and it's very tense in the car..thats when they'r talking about; if bella cut herself; mike newton or someone else could stand to stay there and hold her hand because remember edward was struggling why carisle work on bella.....and they argue a little bit and get out the car and she wants him to stay the night; he's hesitant and he agrees and he later kiss her..
in that scene in the book; bella knows somethings wrong; but she's not all happpy or appear enthusiastic though....so i feel kristen expression is perfect....when they get in her room; she then wants to open her presents; and he asked her "where didi the enthusiasm come from"...basically; i am trying to say that bella knows somethings wrong; and try to smooth it out by accepting the presents and all; but in the book; it doesn't mentioned any thing about her emotions at the time (if she's smiling etc)..mostly she's sees his emotions; like he's not saying a lot; and trying to rush her to sleep and stuff.. so i think it's ok in the clip we see..maybe if they do thebedroom scene after this scene; then maybe they will show bella/kristen kinda acting a little enthusiastic
She's asking him a question with her expression. She knows something is very, VERY wrong, and she's questioning whether he's even willing to kiss her at that moment.
Where did that even come from? She just said it and I don't think she'd say it to anyone else...
maybe that is when she is underwater after she jumps and then her lost thought before she like drowns is "I love you"

It's a quiet and intense ride after the party. Edward feels angry, guilty and sad (I hope Rob shows a little angry in his face, he looks sad though). Bella tries to beg, even blame herself for what happened, just to make Edward not feel guilty. Then she asked him to kiss to break the indifference and silence between them. So this kiss shouldn't be a crazy, enthusiastic kiss. I know you're all crazy about their kisses. But read the book and understand the character before criticizing.
Bella is a complicated character to play. She's clumsy, introverted, compassionate, but has a hard time to express her feeling. Remember Eclipse, she has a hard time to tell Edward how much she wants to make love with him. Their relationship is different and intense. So don't expect Bella or Edward react the same way like typical couples. That makes the story and the movie so interesting.
So fan, understand Bella, read the book before saying anything stupid.

Catherine hardwicke did that mistake by having a really racy kissing scene. I think the directors and the movie makers think that the audience wants MORE SEX, when reality the books slowly built up the sensuality as their relationship progressed...that in my opinion is what kept the audience wanting more and more..
see now, when breaking dawn finally comes out and they have another really intimate scene, for me personally its not gonna be that emotionally climatic because its like ive seen it so many times already. you know what i mean?

I think she nailed the pain in the ballet studio. The stuttering in the hospital was so forced though. Come on girl the love of your life is talking about leaving!!! KS needs to bring more qualities and emotions of Bellas character. It feels like Kristen is playing herself rather than getting into character. Maybe she will readjust...hopefully. Im counting on seeing a "down in the dumps how the heck am I supposed to make it through the day with the feeling of my insides being ripped out" Bella in NM. I think Kristen has the potential to do it. i just want the desperation, the "dazzling", the heart pounding out her chest, the insecurities, and the "old soul" characteristics that were lacking in Twi.
I did the same. I watched the movie then read the books. I went back to see the movie after I read the books and thought that those scenes that weren't in the book should have just been left out and more time spent on Bella & Edward's questions for each other or something like that. I loved how Stephenie Meyer wrote the books. It seemed as though everything was there, no further interpretations needed. But a person watching a movie can't fantasize about how any of the characters should be or how any of the emotions would be displayed. I think I'm more critical because of the books.
I missed the blood typing and the "2000" question game...it showed their relationship!
Guess we cant turn back time to improve Twilight but KS better get her head in the game for NM

Yes! You're SO right! It was one of the FIRST things I said when I walked out the movie.... I hadn't read the books before I saw the movie.. and I was like "You shouldnt be friends? Then stay the eff away from her, you idiot (my apologizes, but well yeah...)! I kept thinking about it during the movie.... Why do you keep following her?? And you're suddenly friends now? All you've been doing is making awkward conversation... YAY we're friends!
In the book Bella and Edward have these long conversations where they ask questions about each others.. Why couldn't she have put that in the movie? Then maybe I would have understood the "friendship" they were suddenly building :p

It was and still is my hope that the new director will make a difference. I've watched a lot of things that KS has done and all the interviews and she does sound the same. I read somewhere that RP took some time to prepare and get into the character. He hadn't heard of Twilight when he auditioned either. He read the books after being hired and prepared himself. I did read somewhere also that Rob was working out trying to buff up for the role and was told to stop. So there are a lot of things that go on behind the scenes.

She was basically invisible in Phoenix and now in Forks the catch of the school gives her his attention and... she doesn't pull the awe and insecurity off.
I'm hopeful but after hearing that "i love you", I'm not so sure. It's her delivery of the lines when being tender and emotional in a deeply felt way that's lacking. I think she has anger down for sure. I don't want to pick her apart but you know getting physical is much easier than getting emotional.
I am very glad that I read the books. They are truly amazing.

It just buggs the hell out of me... I know it's only 15 seconds of the clip, but you have to see it that way: they picked 15 seconds THEY thought were important and represented the movie. And those did not include any Jacob. Just shows us what they think about the relevance of the pack.
I just can't believe this is really happening. I remember when I got my mind around that idea that there will a New Moon movie at all, I thought, oh wow, that means a LOT of Edward-free-and-Jacob-loaded time, cool.
And now look what they're making of it. They practically change the story and make it a goddamn Rob-show. This is ridiculous, and not only because it's so obvious how desperatly they're trying to sell the movie through Rob rather than maybe...mhhh...I don't know...THE STORY??

It's not a trailer, it's a very short clip, a part of a teaser trailer.
It has a lot of logic that a trailer starts with Edward and Bella because if you jump to Jacob parts it will just make people confused. It wouldn't be clear what's going on.

Not to break away from the pack or anything, but I’m on the fence about this. I think Kristen’s delivery was a bit forced. That’s exactly what bothered me about Twilight as well- Kristen’s portrayal of Bella didn’t strike me as a person in love, and REALLY in love, you know? When you have an affinity for someone that strongly, your whole countenance becomes warmer. I didn’t see that in her performance. Sadly I don’t see it here, either.
I know Bella is a teenager, has her insecurities, and can tell something is up with Edward in New Moon, but at some point what we see on screen needs to reflect the deep love and affection she has for Edward. It’s almost as if Kristen is afraid of showing that because she doesn’t want people thinking she’s saying it to ROB instead of Edward.
Her voice definitely is different here, too…
Well, that’s my 2 cents worth.
As for the 15secs clips, your view on Kristen's delivery being abit forced, I felt it's right for me, as in the book, if that scene is after the birthday party as most of us are thinking of, edward was starting to act abit weird (thinking of leaving her, etc), so bella was feeling kinda worried and scared, and she wanted to make him forget about the whole disaster at the birthday party, so she tried to make him forget by trying to make him focused on other things?!
As for in Twilight, you felt Kristen's portrayal of Bella was not of a person in love, really in love, I feel to me, Bella in the book, doesn't always showed her real feelings out front to everyone, and even to edward ... that's why it's so frustrations for him not to be able to read her mind, to hear what she is thinking and feeling. And later on, in the later books, bella mentioned out loud that edward still doubts his hold on her. Like he is unsure of himself and of her.
Twilight movie was not really that well written in many ways, so I think it's fair to give the actors/actresses (ROB/KRISTEN) some forgiving .. like it's hard to go zero to totally madly in love, especially in the book, it grows slowly ... the movie is so short, it cannot fully portray the whole progress of the situations and their relationship.
Not sure if you get what I mean.
I think both of them did great with what they had from the script and from the director's directions. I wished the movie was better but overall, I didn't have any high expectation for it, so I wasn't that disappointed at all. :D
i hope these haters really READ the books maturely enough to understand the character the actors are portraying.

As for kristen's bella, I know she has faced criticism. I think her interpretation is a bit different from book bella- a lot tougher- which is fine with me. What I want from her is just more enthusiasm and emotion. It's hard to judge just from 15 sec, but she seems so indifferent and stoic. This is edward- the love of her existence!! Even in twilight she seemed so blank. Her delivery here was pretty blase again. Yes, there was a bit of seduction I guess, but bella isn't supposed to know how to be seductive.

Now that I have seen the clip on the widescreen, Edward's suit coat is the same material as the pants he is wearing in the reunion scene. That is cool.
And to add, I think Kristen is awesome! When she lifts her eyebrow and says kiss me. That took my breath away. And I love the cinematography and color scheme. So much better than Twilight. I am really impressed by the overall look of this.

I think Kristen did a great job with it, considering it was said almost exactly as it was written. How can you judge her acting on a 15 sec clip? I know some have complained about how she acted in Twilight, but I think she did a really good job. She played the character as written, introverted, shy and at the same time passionate (especailly about Edward). Kristen did not have to do much talking, because her strong emotion came out in her expression and her movement. I am thrilled with what Chris is doing and I gurantee he went to great lengths to pull out the best performances from his actors. You can just tell, the man has an intensity and a vision and he will not settle for anything but the best.
