I LOVED it! It actually WAS VERY close to the book AND they used more actual novel dialogue...I noticed at quite a few key points (when everyone laughed or got emotional) they were actual lines pulled from the book--that was a pet peeve of mine with the first--Catherine Hardwick added in or deleted dialogue that either made little sense or changed the scene too much from the way it happened in the book. I understand you can't use ALL dialogue, but in key scenes that one has imagined from the book it helps A LOT to have the actors say the words that were actually used in that scenario.

The wolves were awesome, and everyone's performance really improved because they had an actual director to direct their acting--instead of the documentary-manner, I record you act, style Cathrine had.

If you like the book and half nekked men, you'll like this one...I am a Werewolf/Shapeshifter fan, so seeing them was a goose pimpley experience for me!

I haven't see it yet, because I didn't have a sitter for my son, but will see it this week. Can't wait! : )

Actually a dominant (alpha type) and pissed off wolf always has its ears erect and forward...it's a misnomer that their ears are always back in moments of aggression or dominance displays (and it happens in dogs too)--laid back ears in a wolf pack means "submission" and it's sort of like bowing one's head to a President or Royalty giving a gesture of respect--in "play fighting" as you sited ears are back because it's a way of saying with their body that "this is all in fun, I mean no harm"--a dog that lays its ears back before an attack is actually attacking out of fear and from unsure tension--but average Joe's won't know that and it probably looked off to them to see growling wolves with their ears forward.

I agree...even in the movie I felt the fur texture and colorations were a little "off"...but the body, fangs, eyes and other features are vastly improved and more "scary'...I thought the fur color on the first was more realistically wolf-like, but liked the more reddish shade of the second version--I liked the creamy belly and leg fur--it just looked more real to me--and the standing guard hairs on the first one's "ruff" and shoulders is more comparative to a REAL wolf's fur--I really think the fur effect was more realistic in the first and that melding the two versions together fur wise would have made for more realistic overall appearance...I LOVE IT ANYWAY! JUST SAW THE MOVIE AND IT WAS AWESOME!
