Love is a lot more normal than that. And a lot more special and unique. But please, don't be fooled by a book. Or even better, don't be fooled by what Edward and Bella had. Love isn't like that.
I'm just kinda sick of older people thinking us teenagers are airheads. They don't give us enough credit...we actually DO understand things! arg!
Twilight would not be the phenomenon it is today if it would not have been for Bella and Edward's unique love story. If Stephenie were to be completely truthful and to make her writing 'real' there would be no twilight at all.
I think people should just let the 'fan girls' be exactly that. Let them be fans. Let them enjoy the Twilight Saga, after all they are teenagers! Let them enjoy themselves!
And yeah, I can assure you that I know exactly what love is. I'm very in love and engaged. ;)
I just feel bad when the fan girls start talking like that, and thinking they know what love is because they've read about Bella and Edward. This will only increase the bad endings in relationships, the divorces and the feeling of emptiness when they can't find a love like that.
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with reading Twilight and get touched by Edward and Bella's love. But the fan girls need to know that this kind of love isn't real. They need to differenciate between real life and a fantasy. That's all I'm saying. There's nothing wrong with dreaming or wishing for that kind of love (I'm sure we all have done it at least once in our lifes, and it's normal). But always knowing the limits.
Fan girls shouldn't get lost in a fantasy, they shouldn't lose sight of the real world, because it will bring them disappointment when they can't find their perfect fantasies in real life.
So dream all you want. But don't lose sight of reality.
Also, I'm a teenager, and I'm a huge fan! :D But I don't think this Saga is real..I know better than that. I read the books because they are so intriguing and really great.
The only difference is that in real life, things don't always develop in a way that you actually end up with your Edward.
I'm 23 and have found someone I would want to spend forever with and have been with for 5 years and we're the only one each other has dated.
I'm not saying that love can be defined or that everyone has their perfect Edward or Bella but it can happen.
Also this is why I would never let my 14 year old kid read Twilight, they don't understand love yet, no offense.
I wonder if that's why I don't like Edward that much. Because I know the difference between real love and a false image of love, and I know Edward gives the pre-teen readers a false notion about love, and even a false notion about men. Some girls are too immature to understand the difference between a book romance and real life. What Kristen has... it's real life, real love. Much more better than some idealized notion of true love which isn't even real.
And the Rob comparisons... Seriously, can they get more stupid? No one would have given him a second look if he hadn't played Edward. But of course, he's playing Edward, so he must be freaking perfect! Jeez, grow up already! There are sexier men, more gorgeous, handsome and beautiful than him. HE'S NOT EDWARD! And this applies to the rest of the cast. Do the world a favour and learn the difference between an actor and a character.
For example, I've already read some comments whith some bashing towards Taylor. And again, HE'S NOT JACOB! It's very sad how some people have started bashing him out of jealousy, because they feel as if Rob was threatened. Or more accurately, as if Edward was threatened. It's so sad! Taylor is a really sweet kid. Even sweeter than Rob, I should add.
So think before you write, girls! You're living a fantasy.
Wake up!
And I also completely agree that the actors are not the characters. It drives me crazy (and probably the actors too) to be called Edward, Bella, and Jacob. Can you not see that these people have lives beyond those characters? Sheesh...
What I've taken away from these books is this:
1. Both Edward and Jacob love Bella for WHO SHE IS and THEY DON'T WANT HER TO CHANGE! Just as Bella loves each of them for who they are.
2. You don't always fall in love with the person everyone (including yourself) "expects" you to fall for . . . so keep your eyes, heart, and mind open.
3. Love knows no boundaries . . . whether it be someone of a different race or economic background or educational background, someone who "adopts" you, a family you marry into, a child you give birth to or a family created from friendship. Love has a million faces!
4. One person can make a difference (Bella protecting her family and friends at the end of BD).
5. WE define and are responsible for our own "happily ever after." Everyone's definition of "happily ever after" is unique to themselves, so create your own and BE happy!
Understand this . . . love IS passionate and scary and thrilling and difficult (many of the things Stephenie writes about in her books). I am 33. I was married 9yrs before I divorced a little over a year ago. Bad endings come to relationships whether you want a love like Bella and Edward have or not . . . it's life . . . it happens. And these books . . . they gave me HOPE. They renewed my faith in a lot of things, even though I'm a GROWN-UP and KNOW that the story is fiction.

BTW,When I first came on this thread earlier I was ready to post something nice, like "hey aren't they cute together, and that's cool that Nikki and Kristen seems to be getting closer, which is ironic from the roles they are playing, but nice, and YAY glad Taylor is back"
BUT NO it turned out to be more bashing and trashin' so what the hell?! Ain't nobody here happy that we have a bunch of cool people, gorgeous people filming yet another movie of the books we love?! Don't get, but what the hell and oh well....
Number two, Nikki is one haleuva person. Anyone that has read about her life would know that. Also did anyone of you know that she wrote the script for Thirteen? I have never understood the pure hatred directed toward her. She has experienced more hardships in her 20 years than some can imagine. Who cares if she and Rob date or whatever. Don't you, as "fans", wish happiness for the cast members?
The rudeness, negativity, and just plain old vile jealousy directed toward our actors is ridiculous! We are lucky that our favorite story has been turned into a movie and how do we repay them? By trashing their PRIVATE (if I could bold that I would) lives, their significant others, and their looks? Get over yourselves and grow up!! They are HUMAN! I feel terrible for the cast! They are hunted like animals and every part of them is microscopically picked apart by the 'fans.' If you are a fan of something/someone try accepting them as they are.
With that being said. The minute that Taylor Lautner turns 18 a slue of cougars will be drooling over him. It should be....wait in the US it is, illegal for him to be that cute! He is HUGE! Can you girls imagine what he will look like when he hits the 20s. Good lord!
And a side note...are Taylor and Michael wearing the same jacket or is it just me?
I also just posted a little earlier further up something similar too that when I at first saw this article I was all gung-ho and ready to post a nice comment about Kristen & her beau, and something nice about Nikki, and something nice about Taylor, which seriuosly I thought is what I would see and read, all nice comments, but surprise-surprise
On a lighter note...Wow. Cool 411, that Nikki wrote the script about her bio movie. More respect for her now than I already had.

It is hard to imagine Taylor getting cuter because, as you said, he is so damn gorgeous. Especially with the added muscle. It feels so wrong to say that but I can't help it lol.
And I've said it before, it's absolutely ridiculous how some of these people constantly belittle and terrorize the actors/actresses. We need to be showin big love for ALL of them since they are bringing our story to life!
I agree with you. As I have said before, I live in a place that has its fair share of actors, musicians, authors, and what not. We treat them with the same respect that we would anyone else. They are just another neighbor and contributor to our state and town. So I'm baffled at the viciousness directed at the cast. I love our cast! Every single one of them.
I don't really care for these "Kristen and 'Oregano' shouldn't be together" comments. I mean, seriously, if she loves the guy, then she loves him. We can't change that - and nothing will, unless they just... fall out of it.
It's not fair to get ourselves so wrapped up in other's personal lives. We act as if we actually know these people - personally know them - when the truth is, we don't. We don't know what runs through their head or what they're like in real life.
I, personally, would prefer Kristen to stay with Angarano (sp.?) than have her leave him for Rob. I don't really think they'd make a good couple, Rob and Kristen. And it's hard to believe that people really think they have chemistry - or if they're just getting the real people mixed up with Bella and Edward.
Anyway, whatever.

Guys have been wearing plaid shirts, beards and shades since before Rob was born! It's a casual, grunge, laid back style that a lot of guys wear.
As far as Taylor I have seen photo after photo of him dressing the same in dark clothes and dark jeans, and he dresses a bit more clean cut. Never once did I think oh I think he looks like Rob in those clothes.
AND I have also I seen even Chris Weitz and the other guys including the other wolf boys and vamps wearing hoodies, and leather jackets
Robs everyday wear seems a lilltle more loved clothes as they look rather old from wear and tear and seems like he puts on the first thing he sees and calls it a day. Which is cool, as he IS a guy, trying to impress no one including you.
They are all individuals and all gorgeous in their own way, and they are all NOT raiding Rob's closet and hanging out in his set trailer asking "oooh,ooh Rob where did you get that adorable hoodie, and that plaid shirt. Come on now!!!!
Rob seems to like Nikki enough to hang out with her more than enough times so what if he likes her as a friend or more.

In a lot of cold weather places such as Alaska where I've lived before when my family was in the Army, just about every guy and man wore that and called it getting dressed for a regular day.
Back in the 90's it was the style, the Grunge style.
I now live in Co. and today is trash day and it snowed last night so its cold weather layer day,and the trash men were wearing plaid shirts, jeans and hoodies. Uh, how dare the trash men copy Rob's style!!!!!!! so hilarious with the naive rob comparisons

I also agree with you, its Kristen's choice who she wants to be with, regardless of her age. Fans keep saying that Rob and Kristen has so much chemistry. Yes they do, on-screen chemistry- they are being directed, off screen chemistry-they are professionals who have a movie to sell.
That said, I am a Rob/Kristen shipper. But thats my opinion, I don't know them of course. But body language just makes me think Kristen and Micheal aren't right for each other. Again, just my opinion.

As far as Rob & Nikki, whether they are spending time together doing this or that? If they enjoy one another's company then I am okay with that. I don't care much for Rob simply because I dislike actors who seemingly whine about being famous when they choose to become an actor/actress. That has always bothered me. Don't like the fans? The paparazzi? The stress? Flip burgers. No one bothers that person. Personally I like Nikki. I wasn't too sure of her as Rosalie at first but I think she is perfect for the role now. She has a very unique beauty (she is hard to draw properly!) but I think she is gorgeous. I don't think it is fair of people to judge her because of her past. She has changed for the better & I'm proud of her.

So any who... I have to say that I'm happy 2 hear Tay is back to film once again... Im super excited to see what he does in NM! And I know most of you don't like K's bf (and, again, I don't understand why if you dont know the guy) but I think that they are cute together and they are obviously still together for a reason... the way K looks @ him in some of those pix is just adorable... I wish them well as well as the rest of the cast... especially Rob b/c I am one of THOSE fans who love and respect him and want nothing but the best for him and I truly hope that he someday finds a great girl to make him the happy man he deserves to be even if that means Nikki, whoever it may be...
