I for one give them major props for chosing to play these roles. They obviously had to fight hard for these parts and earned them. So have a little confidence people.
And on top of that, I think both of their track records speak for themselves. Most actresses their age go for the B movie comedies and big budget action flicks .... uhh ...let's see .... Megan Fox anyone?
I can't think of a movie I have seen yet from either one that I detested..
Give them some credit and have a little confidence in their abilities before passing judgement. I for one will be supporting them at the theatre, the same I will Rob for Remember Me.

I have no problem with any lesbian stuff. But creepy middle-aged men are already pawing at 15 y/o Dakota and I just hate to think what the comments are going to be once they see this movie. Dakota and Kristen are serious actresses and don't deserve to be disrespected.

I think its great Dakota and Kristen took on these rolls though. Got to have a variety of acting experiances to open up more opportunities for the future :).

Let's see .......... can't think of any. I think people are saying that she is a good actress due to her track record, not because she is doing a lesbian love scene.
But it does show drive and determination on their part to do something like that.
Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning yesterday on the set of The Runaways working that old school style. High waist leather pants. Please. If I put those on I’d be the Chinese Porny Simpson.
Kristen however looks amazing. There’s a cute, cute, CUTE body under there. As for those platforms, my mother had a pair. And she’d wear them almost exactly the way Dakota is wearing them here. With a blouse and a vest and sunglasses and there’s a classic photo of her – so random – standing next to an elephant in the Philippines before I was born, hair feathered on both sides and she loves to pull it out and tell me, every time, in the exact same phrasing, that she has always been the most stylish woman in the room. Has always been. Meaning present included.
This from a woman who now dresses like an Elvis/Dolly Parton/Hello Kitty hybrid.
Hmm about the scene in question..well it will be interesting to see. I have to admit I just can't imagine seeing Dakota that way. I still see her as a kid, which she still is in a way.
But I'm sure it will look good in the movie, it's always like that. You hear something like this totally out of the context and it maybe sounds weird, but when you see them in their characters the plot draws you in...it just becomes a part of the story.:)

But I do agree with you that she is mature, at least in the way she handles her roles and the media. She deserves a great deal of respect. I have high hopes for her career - I don't see her becoming a trainwreck like some of the other girls out there.
Dakota's shoes are soooooooooooo high. I hope she doesn't trip or something. That would be completely terrible.
I give her props for actually willing to wear does.
Part of the story is a hookfup with Jett and Cherie, but it is a small part of this film.
No one was weirded out when Rob played a gay man with some very risque scenes with his costar and he was only what 19 or 20? He filmed it the year before Twilight so we are talking 3-4 years ago. They are actors who take on challenges and I respect what they do.
They don't look exactly like the Runaways at that time. At that time, The Runaways had Jackie Fox, not Robin. What a wasted opportunity to really have it look the same. So distracting when you know. Why couldn't they just use them all?
