But as far as the new guy playing the part of jacob black.. At first i was thinking.. NO! but.. really if you think about it.. Jacob is supposed to mature over night. Bella is supposed to feel small compared to him- and Jacob is supposed to be a bit more intimidating, and wild. I think someone BIG / TALL like this guy would be good. Bella is supposed to start falling for him- and if Edward is going to MIA for a while- the movie has to have good sexual tension. I could definately see that happening with the new guy. I love you Taylor! frown
First off, I am team Jacob. I'm not saying that I am upset how everything turned out in the end with Bella, Edward, and Jacob, me as a person would have picked Jacob.
Secondly, I loved the movie. I think they did an excellent job for an independent film. Of course, there would be certain things I would have done differently.
Thirdly, I liked Rob as Edward, HOWEVER, he never fit the description in which Stephanie Meyer created for him. Edwards is suppose to be the most beautiful person ever...not the hottest. She, in the books, compared him to Michaelangelo's "David." Robert doesn't quite fit that for me.
Fourthly, to be honest, out of all the characters in the movie, Jacob is the closest to how I pictured him. Lautner has his smile. The perfect teeth and just the most welcoming and friendliest smile. I do not think they should change him. In movies, they can do so much nowadays; if Lautner can't beef up on his own, they can make him look buff plus add the foot he needs to be werewolf Jacob.
LAstly, sad but true, we all read the books. We all have our unique imaginations. No one is going to picture the characters the same (notice my comment, I always said "that is not how I pictured..."). However, I really did enjoy the movie and the actors who portrayed each character. It brought the story closer to the fans.

Jacob is a freaking mouthraper who forces himself on women that are completely uninterested and then manipulates them into returning affection. btw, Bella wasn't uninterested, she actually did like/love him, but as she finds out, she didn't recognize it as love because it was so different from what she and Edward had. Jacob doesn't disrespect women, and he was desperate, that's why what happened in Eclipse happened.
Also, Edward says again and again how selfish he is for staying with Bella, and he is actually right. He stays (after New Moon) because it would hurt her too much, but also because it would hurt HIM too much. He is selfish. (okay, that was really hard to write because I am a Team Edwarderer)
As Jacob points out, he and Bella would have been each others soul mates, but because of the supernaturalness (that's actually a word!!) that has affected their world, their futures have been all screwed up. If vampires had never come to Forks (ever), then the wolf gene thingy would have never showed up in Jacob, so imprinting wouldn't be a problem. Bella and Jacob would have time to bond, seeing as no one is trying to kill her/"protect" her from werewolves, and they would end up marrying and living happily ever after etc. So.... long story short, Bella had two true loves, but one ECLIPSEd the other.

I liked Taylor but he is just too young and never ever could he pull off the older Jake, even if he buffs up, when Bella and Jake stand next to each other they shouldn't be eye to eye! What do you want them to do? Taylor caring a stool everywhere on set so he can stand on it?
Since the beginning I feared that Taylor was a mis cast and although I iked him better than I thought I would, it's not going to change that he is too young for New Moon.

I did see him on one tree hill. I couldn't stand his character on that show, but the actor did have the arrogant swagger and sarcasm post transformation jacob has.
I would really miss taylor though. I thought he played jacob very well and it would have been nice to see him tackle the changes that jacob goes thru.

Hello people! In BD, Jacob is 6'5 and growing! Taylor is only 5'6. No amount of steroids or bulking up will get him that big by March when the film starts filming. If Summit is going to stay true to the book (as they should), then there is no other actor out there more perfect than Michael Copon. So if you are a true Twilight fan and want to preserve the integrity of the book and how it is portrayed onscreen, be honest with yourself and admit Taylor would NOT make a good Jacob.

Hello people! In BD, Jacob is 6'5 and growing! Taylor is only 5'6. No amount of steroids or bulking up will get him that big by March when the film starts filming. If Summit is going to stay true to the book (as they should), then there is no other actor out there more perfect than Michael Copon. So if you are a true Twilight fan and want to preserve the integrity of the book and how it is portrayed onscreen, be honest with yourself and admit Taylor would NOT make a good Jacob.

Fourthly, to be honest, out of all the characters in the movie, Jacob is the closest to how I pictured him. Lautner has his smile. The perfect teeth and just the most welcoming and friendliest smile. I do not think they should change him. In movies, they can do so much nowadays; if Lautner can't beef up on his own, they can make him look buff plus add the foot he needs to be werewolf Jacob.

i feel awful for taylor lautner because he was really excited to do the 2nd movie and he's so adorable, but i was wondering how they would pull off making him look older and bigger. he's supposed to be bigger every time bella sees him, and the only way they could pull that off is by feeding him steroids... haha. though i'll miss taylor dearly, i suppose it's for the best. he would look awkward putting his arm around bella and everything since he's supposed to look significantly older and bigger than her. i think michael could pull it off a lot better. and they look very similar- if you look up other pictures of michael, there's one where he looks identical to taylor. i just hope summit knows what they're doing. cross your fingers, girls. i feel awful for taylor lautner because he was really excited to do the 2nd movie and he's so adorable, but i was wondering how they would pull off making him look older and bigger. he's supposed to be bigger every time bella sees him, and the only way they could pull that off is by feeding him steroids... haha. though i'll miss taylor dearly, i suppose it's for the best. he would look awkward putting his arm around bella and everything since he's supposed to look significantly older and bigger than her. i think michael could pull it off a lot better. and they look very similar- if you look up other pictures of michael, there's one where he looks identical to taylor. i just hope summit knows what they're doing. cross your fingers, girls. Thats all the TRUE Twilight fans are gonna b thinking about..sure they'll remember the movie, but most of all they'll be missing Taylor and thinking about how better he would have been as Jacob if they never kicked him out of the cast....

CGI can do wonders and they already have to make the other wolves taller so why not do that with Taylor? In Twilight, he didn't get to show of all of his talent because he was in what? Three scenes? But within his smile, you can tell that he is carefree and he is as close to Jacob as you can get outside of Stephenie Meyer's mind. If they had to replace anybody...no offense but I would pick the guy who played Sam.
Sam is supposed to be like 20. The guy who played him looked like a 35 year old who needs a nice long nap. I'm not trying to be mean here but come on. Don't replace Taylor. He is trying sooo hard and he really likes the role of Jacob. Don't take him out when he never got the chance to fully portray the role. Sure, he's young, but there is just something about him that screams Jacob to me.
I'm happy with everyone they cast for the movie because I love the books and I'm honored that out of all of the other books they could have made into a movie, they chose this series. I'm not going to turn away from the movies because I am loyal to the books and I am happy seeing something else that is related to it.

VERY CREEPY to have a 26 almost 30 year old pretend to be a 16 year old stalking 17yr. old Bella, not too mention the forced kiss a 26,27 yr oldJacob gives Bella,then end up imprinting on you know who's child( if he would do all movies),even if I know the imprint thing at first is more brotherly love, even if it's acting I would consciously know his real age, by then he could be nearly 30pedophilia. Not to mention that a 26 almost 30 year trying to act 16 can show up on screen as if he is not the sharpest tool in the shed. By off chance they pick him he actually will be 29,30 by the time they finish the last movie.
It would be a huge slap in the face to the fandom when a vast majority of them want Taylor to reprise his role as Jacob Black if they replace him with someone like Michael C. who has such a disrespect, AND lack of knowledge of the books and movie(s)and for the twihards with his extreme arrogance. This is a fan driven franchise, so to disregard one request by the fandom deserves reprocussions and this will test whether or not Weitz will keep his word about making a movie with the fans in mind.
Half of the characters from the movies arnt like what there descibed to be,
