AND BEFORE THE SUMMIT HATERS START - it appears to me that Rachelle was a bit underhand by not telling Summit about her commitments elsewhere and leaving it until the last minute. I reckon she thought they would be bullied then into changing their schedule (wish would push back the release date) and they weren't going to be bullied. That was very foolish of her, she lost the part by being sneaky. Maybe it was her agent advising her, well she should get a new agent...

I'm not her biggest fan, not by a long shot, but I know they do scenes sometimes to cover stuff its impossible to show. You know like Bella is thinking Victoria is lethal and heartless so they need to show us that becuase they cannot tell us that...

However I still think MR is a gonk.

I don't have a problem with this scene. You know they had to add more Victoria into New Moon because she's never actually "seen" in the book. Bella is always just worried about her finding her. So I'm sure there's going to be a lot of Victoria stalking Bella.

She should have been above board with all her commitments. Why wasn't she? At the end of the day it looks to me that she presumed she was important enough that all the other cast members and crew would have to work around her. Too big for her boots? Well she has lost the part now... and that is her own fault.

I think that she was lured into a false sense of security by Summit and her agent. The other cast members themselves said that there was a schedule problem that was being worked out. If Rachelle was ever lead to believe that there wasn't a chance of working it out, then we know she wouldn't have walked away.

I just think that there's a lot of background talk that went on that may have given Rachelle that false impression rather than it being her own inflated self importance.

I blame her agent to be frank about it. I've some experience in the business and I would think it was up to her agent to advise her to keep Barneys Version quiet until it was too late, in their opinion, to do anything but change the summit schedule. It could have knocked the movie back by ten days. These things are worked out to the wire. It isn't just her, its Rob Kristen, Tay, all the crew, the locations and the permits, everything is already worked out. She should fire her agent.

Yeah, with the constraints of the locations and permits it's just impossible to think that Rachelle thought it could work out. That's why it's so confusing and eludes to something more that's going on. There's no way that we're going to get the whole story.

I bet that is how it went down though. Would sooo luv to give that agent the boot.

I think that she forgot that she didn't really have a big part. Its actually a small role, like Esmes. People don't really look at the cast of these films like that but thats the reality of it. I think Le Fevre got big headed and her agent pumped her up. I honestly don't think there is anything secretive at all where Summit are concerned, they wouldn't have released that statement if there was.

It bit her in the ass though didn't it! Silly girl. The other thing was that RLF released her statement after being hated big time online, and SUmmit have said they are surprised at her statement given that she made choices leading to not being available, it isn't that she has been let go, she isn't available. That I suppose is the bottom line....

But we are all on the same page there I think....

I blame her her agent/manager!!! It's ridiculous. This could have been avoided by her turning down that small part in Barney's Vision!! She would have had endless offers after Eclipse. Eclipse were her time to shine!

As for Melissa, I read the script about Victoria's scene. I didn't think it was needed. *glares at MR*

I agree...her agent was to blame. She was let down and needs to replace him/her right away.

A few people were saying that she only appears at the end of Eclipse, which is true for the book, but in the movie, she will appear throughout. I have read a draft for New Moon and she also appeared throughout the movie but hardly in the book. So in other words, those 10 days, esp at the beginning of the shoot would have been crucial.

The people at Summit are liars who will do anything for publicity. For example for New Moon the whole we're gonna replace Taylor thing, for eclipse its this, what will they do for Breaking Dawn if they even make that movie. This is coming from a company that is trying to bribe people to see their movies, hence the whole thing with a new trailer of New Moon coming out before that horrible looking movie Bandslam. They actually advertise it in the Bandslam trailer, how pathetic are these people. I highly doubt that they didn't know about this commitment, considering that they have made statements before about having to give the okay to the actors before they could accept any other parts. They are just trying to make themselves look like victims. Also they waited way to long to give that statement which means they needed to come up with something to say.

Its a movie company. Why would you think they wouldn't want to promote their movies in the most profitable way possible? They are spending 200 million on New Moon, they aren't doing that for any reason other than to make a fortune.

If you hate them that much why would you pay to see their movies and buy the dvds?

Its a business. I still think Le Fevre was underhand, I know a little something about the movie business and no movie company in the world would replace an actor just for publicity, it isn't what they want to do. As for the publicity surrounding New Moon, I never once saw a statement about replacing Taylor, I am sure that was just between fans. We are the people who are making this movie, as well it should be, as huge as it is. We are screaming out for publicity. We want it and we want it now. I hardly blame Summit for doing what they are existing for and making money!

Summit was going to replace Taylor because he wasn't buff enough thats why he worked so hard to buff up. They didn't because fans and cast members pulled for him. As for making money, Ive never seen WB, new line, paramount or any of the other movie companies out there use such tactics and they make plenty of money. Also I don't know where you got that New Moons budget was 200 mill, it has been reported that it is only 50 mill which shows you how greedy Summit is because Twilight made them way more then that so they definitely could have given a bigger budget. LMAO!!! Warner Brothers? They are the worst!! They won't even allow a song of theirs to be used on a wedding video without claiming copyright and suing.

Twilight budget was 37 mill. New Moon is rumoured to be close to 200mill which is nothing in the movies. You obviously know nothing about the movies if you think Twilights budget was small because of greed - it was small because it is a cult film and they didn't want to lose money on it.

AND there was never a statement about replacing Taylor, but why wouldn't they if he didn't fit the part. It is a job after all, and why on earth you think an actor should just be handed a part on a plate is beyond me... He needed to buff up, so he did, so that was fine. WOuld you have wanted a skinny slight Jacob?

First of all there is no need for name calling. I am not being childish I am simply asking you to actually read what I wrote. I added the link to the article which was written back in December stating that they wanted to replace Taylor and that the budget for New Moon was 50 million dollars not 200 million like you are saying. As for Twilight I was stating that it MADE way more then the film actually cost to make and I don't understand why when they made so much profit off of Twilight they couldn't give them a bigger budget for New Moon. It seems to me that the people at summit are a little greedy especially considering that it seems like the Twilight saga is the only group of movies that are doing well for them. I honestly had never heard of them before Twilight and thought they were a brand new company. Please read the article and if you still feel I read something wrong then please inform me of what but this is what Im getting from it.

I think it is extremely childish for anyone to call expect a movie studio, of all things, money minded. Of course they are!! That is the only reason they do any movie. A movie like Waterworld that made only half its budget at the opening box office, but recouped and made a profit eventually - it is called a flop even though it is actually a really good movie. Thats how it works. Summit would have replaced Taylor if he hadn't bulked up to ensure the best possible movie in New Moon. Why is that a negative?

Surely its the story we love, not the cast, and I want the story to be as good as it can be, frankly I love Taylor Lautner now but when he was skinny I wanted a recast - purely for the stories sake. It would be an insult to the character to have it any other way. I'm still worried about the height thing and hope they don't ignore that part of Jacobs change.

Summit would have been right to recast if Taylor hadn't worked out, and they seem to be loyal to the fans by ensuring that the storytelling comes first NOT the actors.

Why everyone is so attached to the actors even though half the people here have nothing but bad things to say about Twilight and Catherine Hardwicke who cast them is beyond me. I don't care who plays who once the characters come across as they did in the book and it stays as true as it can to the original idea. Therefore an article by some online magazine speculating that Jacob will be recast doesn't interest me. I trust the movie studio and the director (who is in charge of casting btw), who want as many people to see their movie as possible, to do whats best for the movie.

I really don't agree.

I think they would have known about the movie...she has been signed to it for ages and its has been in IMDB for quite a few months so I don't understand how they didn't know.

Two sides to every story and I don't think we will ever know the truth about what really went down but I think their attack on everything she said was OTT...and she wouldn't be suing them if she really didn't think she had a fighting chance.

I suppose I just feel that it is more logical the way they put it. Remember they only released a statement after she did. It looks to me that she wanted them to wait and they wouldn't. I don't blame them, she isn't important enough. Americans sue everyone for everything, I reckon her agent has filled her head with more importance than she is worth really...

I feel really sorry for Bryce taking over with the amount of haters around... I'm sure she'll do a better job then Rachelle, who frankly smiled like a gobshite the whole time in Twilight and absolutely did my head in!!LOL!

I agree with you on all the deviations in Twilight. They were disastrous. But I'm hopeful that this time any deviations are versions of the story from other perspectives BASED entirely off of Stephanie's Twilight universe. I'm hopeful anyways. I'll gladly help IHowl2 brandish the pitchfork if NM is anything but.

I don't mind a couple of deviations to show Victoria and what she is doing during the book. As long as they keep the stuff that is actually IN the book, I'm fine with it. But this does sound like a pretty cool scene. I'm looking forward to it.

The naked Volturi scene, the jury's still out, but we will see.

Well... I think she'd done one thing right so far at this point (before watching the movie and all) and that's involving Stephanie in her collaborations! I love that Melissa is open about writing the screenplay in more perspectives than just Bella's and thus being able to include more of Stephanie's unwritten Twilight Universe in here for us fans. Any extras that we see in NM I'm hoping are little bits of juicy-ness from Stephanie herself.

I think that is what was the saving grace of BD for me - the Jake's POV. One person POV is pretty much difficult to see in a film plus it becomes monotonous and boring.

As you said I hope SM is assertive and has given lot of feed back to MR and CW!

Nothing can be done without approval in the contracto movie world. Rachelle would have had a false security by Summit to go-ahead and book the Indi film. There's no way she would have walked away from Twilight. Summit is playing the finger pointing game. Don't buy it! it's a media scam to get attention off them right now.

i'm kinda glad that they're putting in some extra victoria. when you're reading the book, you're inside bella's head and you know her every thought, but in the movie, i think constant depression could get a little monotonous and boring.
