The STORY of Twilight is amazing BUT we've all discussed MANY times on this site that Hardwicke did a terrible job with the movie... although I personally loved the movie bc I'm a Twilight nerd... it really wasn't that great... if the category was Best Story made into a movie.. then def. Twilight would win... (Okay you guys can yell now.. lol)

Slumdog was a blockbuster film; most likely the most celebrated film of 2009. You have to remember Twilight has a target audience. I think Twilight has nothing on Slumdog to be honest, and I hope Slumdog wins. In the end Slumdog helps to open eyes and minds, and delves into the human psych and is honest and compelling. Twilight is a fun movie, but nowhere near as serious as Slumdog.
I love the movie, but it could be closer to the book

dont get me wrong,i dont think the twilight movie was horrible, but truth be told the movie really wsnt that great either, i was lauging at its cheesy-ness half the time when i first watched it.

I voted for Taylor because, despite lack of time, I thought he did do better. One of the stand out scenes (one I find myself watching over and over) for me was the Jake/Edward chill stare. Taylor's acting in that scene sticks out for me. I adore it. His death stare was brilliant. I found Rob a tad annoying with the overacted faces. I couldn't get into the forest "I'm the predator...lion and lamb" scene because of the faces he made. Just my opinion. I am not voting for someone simply because they are a leading star of a film. I went by acting.
I completely agree about the MTV awards. I do not think Slumdog will win, though I voted for it. I do not think Kate Winslet will win, though I voted for her. I really believe it will be Twilight's night. With the massive fanbase voting religiously I can't see it losing. I could be wrong. For me...I just cannot vote for something I do not feel. I am a massive Twilight fan. saga wise..I just couldn't vote over, and over for the movie. I had to go with what I found to be the best.

i did saw both movies ... both my hubby & I liked both movies, maybe he liked Slum more than Twi. For me, since I had seen Indian movies in my childhood, without understanding anything, it's sorta old news to me .. lol ... despite it being directed by a brit. As he kept it pretty indian style most of the way through out the movie ...
Overall, I preferred Twilight myself, despite the movie itself should have been better if it was just like the book (either it's the scriptwriter or director's fault or both) ......
maybe because we sat at the second row during Slum, the sound fr the movie was way too loud for my taste ... lol ...

slumdog millionaire was a really good movie and touching and sweet. and there was no catherin hardwicke there to screw things up.
If this were an award for best story, hands down twilight would win. but based on movied. i vote slumdog.

but it's not anywhere NEAR twilight.. twilight better win every award its nominated for cause they deserve it, tons of people had no idea what Twilgiht was before the movie was made and look what a huge fan base it's caused. yeah there were some awkward moments but overall its an amazing movie, not to metion a damn hot kissing scene !

I think awards could definitely be given out for acting/best kiss, etc. though, as there were definitely some great parts/acting. Just overall, I felt the script/screenplay was inferior to the book.
