Yes, Jacob is supposed to be big and manly, but he's supposed to have an innocence about him. He's still always the "baby" to Bella and Taylor has it. He simply has it.

Its Simple… for all the Twilight Saga readers, once you see a character from a book played in the first movie of a saga you are going see that character in all the saga, New moon is an amazing book but no one can really be the description of any of the werewolves’ characters. Where are you going to find at least 6 Native Americans that are 6 feet tall and muscular, let alone another 4 who can fit the bill to play the rest of the wolf pack on top of that? It’s just not practical.
Taylor Lautner fits Stephanie Meyers description of Jacob Black before his massive werewolf change, so lets keep the same actors in all of the saga, its not a good sequel unless all the actors follow suit to the next movie. It would be the same if they changed Alice, Esme, or Charlie and there wouldn’t be a sequel with out the same Bella (Kristen Stewart) or Edward (Robert Pattinson). So why ruin it by changing another one of the lead actors, because Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) is as much as a lead as Bella or Edward is in the next three books.
If they are going to stay with the concept of the books for the entire saga why ruin a good thing but corrupting the vision with an alternate actor. Taylor Lautner has made Jacob Black so far; he has the fan base the following and the underwear to prove it.
