you should make it like van helsing, for example the scene when he fights dracula and tranforms really quickly.
ps. the werewolf in van helsing looked very cool and was huge just like i pictured it in the book

I think thet should make them just look like giant wolves.. they described them as wolves the size of horses.. and not scary.. if they make them scary looking like in van helsing im gonna be upset.. even though i will probably fall in love with the movie in the first 5 mins..

I agree they need to just look like over sized wolves, and not scary since this is how it is in the book. I think a lot of people will be mad if they are scary looking. At one point it talks about how Jake cant fit in his house because he is so big so they need to make them like this. They are not scary sounding at all though just really big.

i DEFINITELY think they should go with the Big Fish wolves. i dont think that these huge monsters would be Twilightish...im be bummed if they use Van Helsing wolves or Underworld wolves =(

PLEASE make the wolves look like Big Fish wolves.

plus in the movie Twilight the wolves actually look like wolves. lets try to keep it as real as possible.
  • YaMs_BaBy! · 1 year ago

I think a combination of the "american werewolf in Paris" and "Blood and Chocolates" transformation styles would be perfect....B+C had the "pop" factor, but i remember the vivid transformation from human to monster in american werewolf in Paris

I think they should make them just look like giant wolves, like it said in the book. The book said they looked to be bigger than or the size of a horse. So they should just try to find a way to generate a wolf that's the size of a horse... but i'm hoping they do a good job at it so it doesn't look incredibly cheesy. They won't have to make them look scary- horse sized wolves are scary enough. If they try to make them look scarier, it'll come out corny. I REALLY hope they do a good job creating them... New Moon is my favorite book out of all 4 of them.
  • marianne · 12 months ago
they LOOK like WOLVES nothing freaky theyre just abnormally huge like a horse, maybe the wold from big fish i swear i'll die if they look like the van helsing/underworld depictions.

OK first off this is a PG 13 movie , so no scary wolves aloud , plus there has already been a flash back in twilight with ordinary looking wolves .(when Jacobs great grandfather found the Cullens hunting on there land). So its more of a normal wolf idea but just with a bigger frame ie the size as a bear.
here is an idea for the wolves ...

    http://goldenwolfen.com/artwork/werewolves/firs...

or similar to this artists idea

Its gotta be a friendly looking wolf, its a shape shifter remember.

Blood and Chocolate Werewolves were pretty amazin', but New Moon werewolves will be amazin'
  • TexasRose76 · 11 months ago
That is exactly how they should be. Just as the book describes them, large wolves. Because they are not warewolves, but spirit wolves as the legends of Native American Indians.

Could you imagine Bella sitting beside any other kind of wolf. Thank for the reply I think people are crazy to think that they will look like werewolves, they aren't werewolves there shape shifters or as you said Spirit Wolves.

i was thinking about the whole wolf transformation issue.
i know that Jacob and the pack are to transform into wolves which is great. I do have to ask is it possable to do a combination of both underworlds werewolves and real people masking. I have been researching this and though there are alot out there most can be seen as fake or quit honestly a joke. Are you wanting to show the transformation slowly like underworld? or is the trasnformation to be a gluided zap from one to the other if the latter I might suggest CGI with timber wolves with real animals. I know its a bit more expensive but if your not expecting them to talk or walk on the hined legs wouldnt that work?

Okay this is where i think people seriously give werewolves a bad name. They don't want to spend enough time and energy building the perfect werewolf. Forget the essence of Hollywood people, reguardless werewolves are suppose to be scary. They are suppose to be people cursed as monsters. I've seen what they tried to create in "Blood and Chocolate" and i was not impressed. The werewolf transformations should look a little frightening and less beautiful. If you remember in the book Jacob seems tormented by being what he is although he hides it with his good nature.

I can tell you right now the Twilight vampires won't fear regular looking wolves no matter how large they scale them. I loved the first movie but it was suppose to be a bit of a horror movie too and not just a romance. Don't get me wrong I'm all about the romance but Bella and Edward's relationship is also suppose to be terrifying not just adorable. Hello she's in love with a vampire! That's gotta be dangeroous!!! And werewolves are just as dangerous. I'm hoping this new director gets it right with New Moon's Vampires and Werewolves. I'd like to feel a little more scared this time and don't be afraid to show some gore. If they can pull this off without making it too cheesy and exaggerated, this movie could out do the first film in many levels!!!

O.K., let a 40 year old mom comment here. Yes I read the books (all four) because I needed to know what the girls were all giddy about, and I saw the Twilight movie as well. I enjoyed it, but for me the books are so much better because of all of the thoughts, visuals, etc that you just can not capture on the movie screen. Also having the background information from the book helps the viewer to under the movie better. With that said, I know that the director has to capture the interest of the audience folks that did not read the book, and don't have the fillers in their head. I know that each movie will be better than the next. The movie director will be wise to depict a wolf that follows the details of the book. Jacob should be beautiful in both human form, and wolf form as well as the other wolves of the pack. Outside of being beautiful as a wolf - they are beautiful creatures- the wolf should also be a symbol of strength, courage, and loyalty. As far as visuals, the Big Fish wolf fits more with the actual description given in the book.....really big wolves. Remember in the book.....there were several sightings of very big wolves. Wolves don't stand on their hind legs, but on all fours. So they have to be animal like...like really wolves. Hope this helps the directors!

First of all I know what you are saying, but this is suppose to be a horror movie as much as an epic romance. If i wanted to read a book or see a film about innocent looking vampires and werewolves i'd watch Sesame Street!!! I've read the books even before this was a phenomenon!! I didn't just jump into this because they were producing it to film. As a horror movie fan in general I never pictured these monsters all friendly and cute in the books. These are like giant animals that could rip you to shreds. And omg, vampires they're suppose to make you feel afraid even if there is sexual tension. I know in the books Bella isn't afraid Edward but you feel this tension beyond their chemisry. You know that she realizes the danger of being with him, that he's dangerous. I know Jacob and his wolf pack are friends of Bella too but that doesn't make them innocent. I'm sorry but when it comes to the topic of vampires and werewolves there has to be some level of fright. I don't care what people say on here the books and movies are suppose to be scary too!!!!! Plz director make this movie a little bit scary for us Horror/Twilight fans!!!!!
  • ForsakenMoon19 · 11 months ago
Another teen horror book that'd I'd recommend Twilight readers to get into is "Companions of the Night" by Vivian Vande Velde. There you'll get a more realistic veiw on what it'd be like to get involved with a vampire. The main character also falls in love with the vampire in that story, and he is very attractive looking guy, but you never forget how dangerous he is. I couldn't put that book down either I loved the tension between the two main characters. Sure they're not all lovey dovey like Edward and Bella, but there is a frightening appeal to their relationship and I hope the author does a follow up. Twilight fans have got to look at the bigger picture and realize that these monsters have to be scary on some level. Sure they're all hot but they're not people you'd want to mess with!!! I'm sorry but the Twilight saga is as much of a horror story as it is a love story!!!!

A cross between Van Helsing and Big Fish looks just about perfect. Also, the teeth are a very important part in the werewolf's power; it's the only part of them that can cut the vampire's granite-like skin. However, Van Helsing's alone look TOO fake, while Big Fish's look more substantial.

Twilight is unique where deviates from traditions of mythical creatures like vampires, and shape shifters (were-wolves). If movie producers were going with the traditional image of a were-wolf, which is wrong for what Stephanie Meyer pictures for both creatures, than were-wolves would have to look like the lycans in Underworld. But to truly appreciate the image and history Stephanie Meyer created for the wolves, than it would have to be a truly over sized wolf. We are talking, when all four feet are on the ground the front shoulders would be around 5-6 feet high.

For clarification on what Stephanie imaged for the wolves, refer to the creation story, Billy Black tells, of his ancestors, and the first time Bella sees the wolves, in the meadow opposite Laurent.

They aren't werewolves, they're shape shifters, that means they shape shift into wolves hence why it would be a good Idea of having large wolves. And also vampire, werewolf, shape shifter or whatever, anything that can rip you into tiny pieces and set you a light is something to fear.

I've seen a lot of comments suggesting that a simple "giant wolf" will be the best werewolf. Does this really make sense to anyone? First, if you know anything at all about animal behavior, they just look overtrained in movies... I sure wouldn't wanna be responsible for training the wolves for this movie. Second, New Moon wolves show all kinds of emotions and human-relatedness that you can't really pull this off w/o CGI. Third, contrary to what many people here think... the book does not necessarily support giant wolves. Remember, experience hunters confused them with a bear! I've been around a lot of hunters and they know what they're talking about... enough to be about to describe a new beast as "a really big wolf" instead of a bear. I don't think the "scary" factor is a big deal either. First, don't they kill vampires for a living? Second, I think that's part of Bella's intrigue... she looks past what other people see and cuts to the heart of the problem. If the wolves where not at least somewhat scary, she wouldn't be so cool. Anyway, her dad (pretty tough guy) was freaked out when he saw Jacob change, so I don't think they should be giant puppies. Conclusion: if those "in power" read this... don't make the wolves actually wolf-like... it just wouldn't make sense. I think the other people here would agree if they thought about it.

Oh yes... and one more thing. If I'm reading between the lines correctly, a lot of commenters seem to want "friendlier" werewolves basically because the Twilight series is a happy teen love story. If this is correct... did you read all the books? There is much more there than frolicking in meadows. Don't believe me? Reread the scenes where Bella gives birth, or when Edward decapitates someone... that'll do it for ya.

i think the werewolves should look like a wolf but a lot bigger, for the fact they find out in book three that their not really werewolves at all but shape shifters. Makes since to cuz they are not portrayed scary in the book , sept for how big they are.

as long as they aren't lame....the absolute worst werewolf ever on screen was Professor Lupin in the third Harry Potter movie...so stupid looking...why wouldn't a werewolf have hair? I like the werewolf from big fish.

I think The werewolves from BIG FISH would be best the look the most like wolves .
And this about it these werewolves in the books are mostly kind ppl so i don't want there shape shifted form to be terrifing.
But idk im sure the movie will be ahhhmazin' <3

Um.. People they aren't werewolves. They are shapeshifters. A Native American thing. Listen to Alisha, and the others that point this out. Its not negotiable. In fact if they make werewolves, not wolves, well, i will feel like they didn't read the book or something!
