I hope they tell us soon whether or not he's cast so I can stop worrying about it. I think it would be cruel to cast someone else now, especially with all the work he has put into beefing up (....he looks quite attractive in the above picture! haha). As for the height...I mean really. How difficult is it with all our technology to make him look a bit taller? Put him on a box if they don't have the cash!

This whole debacle is ridiculous. This shouldn't even be a question. If you look at the rest of the pics from this set, he's bigger than everyone except Kellan, which makes total sense character-wise.


I am morally opposed to torturing myself with any more Michael Copon in my life. If he gets it, for the sake of the Twilight books, I might rent New Moon, or see it at a dollar theater. Definitely not paying 8 bucks to see that joke of an actor squint and pout his way through a movie.

Summit doesn't care whether you see the movie or not. All they're looking at is $$$ and one viewer won't make or break them. Trust me, I've already thought about it and it's sad because I'm a dedicated fan of the series and my opinion means nothing.
All I know is that I will NOT see New Moon if Taylor isn't in it.

Hmm yeah i always wondered how her supposed imdb height which i was sure said 5'7 a few days ago. now says 5'6 which i dont care about Edward was always meant to be alot taller anyways. i just couldn't figure out why she was that much shorter next to Robbert if she was meant to be 5'7 oh well each to their own.

Taylor is 16 years old.. hes 5'9 now if he grabs a growth spurt and dosent over work out too much he could make 6'1 by production. i dont know.. i really just hope their looking at Michale Coppel as a contingency plan and not a whole because i think this kid could pull it off.. because i dont think the majority is out their to switch actors.

i really hope they don't recast it. taylor has been doing so much work trying to beef up for the next movie. he really wants it and he totally captures jacob's happiness and youthfulness which draws bella to him in the first place. a huge part of the book is how much jacob reminds bella of the sun, and taylor encompasses that like no one else can. jacob is supposed to have an air of innocence and youth to him even when he turns into a werewolf.
i would seriously cry if they replaced taylor. :(

Firstly, changing Jacob would not have changed the story. Secondly, Lord of the Rings budget for making the movie was roughly over 200 mil more than Summit has for New Moon. And thirdly, not everyone was 3 feet high in LOTR. Just because you like someone doesn't make them the best for the role.

You know what screw that cuz i agree with the majority! i don't think people are giving Taylor enough credit to be an awsome leading man in the sequal! Yes i understand there is an issue with the height but who knows Taylor might get that growth spirt or the effects thing is also something to reconsider but not recasting!!!!


Summit is stupid if they think they can pull this crap and anger millions of egar Twiight fans. They're setting themselves up for failiure!!!! This next film is suppose to surrpass the first film on many levels the effects have to be amazing and nothing like what we'd expect!! I am personally hoping the people that made the first movie learnt from their mistakes there!!!

Although i am still a fan of the movie and the books!!!

im still reading the 4th book and i can always see taylor acting as jacob. ill be so mad if they take him out!!! new moon is mostly about him and bella anyway.....

ugh..... who cares about the height!!! i watched an interveiw and he was so excited for the next movie......hell be so upset if they tale him out :(

I think alot of fans are pulling the whole "either Taylor is in it or I wont see it" thing, so why not have an official boycot of the movie if taylor isnt picked? i mean itd get the attention of the people making it. Besides Taylors hitting puberty anyway he should grow taller, especially while filming so if theyre smart enough to plan it right then he can actually grow taller in the movie as well.

he seems kinda fakey wakey guys serously he's got that butt kissing, goody two shoes, vibe going on, aside from the fact any1 could beat him at arm wrestling no contest, and hes simply not Jacobs character at all. (oh sorry aside from tan skin, brown eyes you could swim in NOt and black hair WOw talk about groundbreaking). he may be good looking but I dont think some1 who whores himself off and is this desperate for the role, is right for Jacob Black. Jake'd never do that, scrue summit is what hed say.Thats gotta mean something. Hes the only unnauseating actual real character in these books, with some edge, and heart and now he'll be played by a little teeny bopper cuz all the 12 year olds think hes dreamy and want to have his child. Wow dumb. Why do u think he wants the role so much cuz hes so passionate about Jacob Black and loves Twilight series, ahh keep telling yourselves that, its so he can get publicity and get famous, not cuz he gives a crap . Hollywood's just a popularity contest but thats no surprise, have fun w/ your adorable little actor. Im not wasting my money on that movie when it comes out, pass.

While I am happy that Taylor will reprise his role as Jacob Black, I must say that the movie would not have suffered without him simply because his part in the Twilight movie was quite minimal. Michael Copon does resemble Taylor and I think he would've worked just fine. He did fit all the physcial requirements of "older Jacob." You need to stop thinking about who plays who and concentrate on who would've been the right fit for the role. That being said, I'm confident that Taylor can do it. At least for now. Lets hope that they can work their movie magic (budget permitting) to make him look 6'7 and brolic.

Did you ever see him (Michael Copon) on One Tree Hill. He could sooooooooooooooooo play the type (boyish, charming, sweet-faced, smiley.) If you saw him on OTH then you would know what I'm talking about. Although he played a bad boy on OTH, you still liked him.

Firstly, changing Jacob would not have changed the story. Secondly, Lord of the Rings budget for making the movie was roughly over 200 mil more than Summit has for New Moon. And thirdly, not everyone was 3 feet high in LOTR. Just because you like someone doesn't make them the best for the role.
