Chris would have to be an idot to replace jockob that would almost be as bad asreplacing Edward. Chris can only hope that his movie was as good as Twilight and if he dosen't there will be a lot of anngry teenage girls.

i know that a lot of people will hate me for saying this but...... i think there should be a new jacob. the other guy was great in the movie but for new moon jacob goes through so many changes that watching it for me would be a huge downer without a better jacob on it.

Such as this one, ReelzChannel, MTV movies blog, EW, People and several others. All the comment threads, blogs, petitions, polls, videos, websites all about Taylor and his, yeah that's right, 'HIS ROLE as Jacob', are hugely popular, with all of them extremely in Taylor's favor, practically all SCREAMING KEEP TAYLOR LAUTNER AS JACOB BLACK IN NEW MOON!


Height requirements, that shouldn't even be an issue with the rest of the cast not being true to the books descriptions anyhow! If you have a majority of unhappy Taylor/Jacob fans who are threatening not to have Summit and Co. 'ruin it' for them and not be part of that theatre audience will certainly be a financial flop at least. And if that turns out to be the case where will they ever get the money to produce Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Not from us say the Taylor/Jacob Fandom, if Taylor is not chosen as Jacob in New Moon or in the other 2 movies then they too will most likely be the same financial flops since Jacob's role in the books only increases. The millions upon millions Summit made in Twilight was not just paid for by Team Edward fandom you know. Team Taylor/ Jacob, we were there to maybe even paying more entrance tickets just to get multiple glimpses of Taylor/Jacob in his limited appearances in twilight, and as 'Bella would say, so we could "get our fix" of Taylor/Jacob too.

I am pretty neutral over the Jacob controversy, I like Taylor, but I understand why they would want to go with a physically more mature actor and Michael is totally hot too. Now, if they are to replace anyone at all, it should be Kristen. When I was reading the books I loved Bella's character to death, and the love story between her and Edward, their love could withstand anything. Kristen did a terrible job trying to show any type of love she is supposed to have for Edward! With that said, I will still go to see New Moon no matter what, new or old Jacob, and even with the horrible Bella choice-Kristen. I can only hope I am not as disappointed as I was with Twilight.

Taylor Is perfect as Jacob. He actually grows at the same speed as Jacob. The proof is in his picures! Go to the search engine for this website and type 'Taylor Lautner's Growth Spurt' , click on that article.They have a series of pictures of Taylor from 2007 to present, a span of just one year. It's amazing how much he has changed! We may actually see Taylor grow in reality just as Jacob did in the books. If he grew and changed in one year as we see in those pictures then it will be the same as they film the movie since it takes one year too. If they make the mistake of changing to an older looking actor how are they going to make him look young in the beginning. I would think it would be harder and goofier looking to try to make an older man look younger.

I agree that Taylor should stay. While watching Twilight we got a glimps of the Cullens making an agreement with Jacobs grandfather. The grandfather - who was also a werewolf - was shorter than the Cullens. What's the big deal?

Fans are upset because Michael Copon is being considered to replace Taylor. If they are going to replace Taylor, they have to replace him with a better actor who would be more believable to go against Edward and that is no other than STEVEN STRAIT. More fans will accept the change of Jacob with they choose Steven over Michael.

I saw Steven in his last roles and I see him looking way too old for this part, he looks older than Edward/Rob and I think they are the same age. Just Google him to see. BUT, I half-heartedly agree with you on your point . Actually I, if they make the mistake of not keeping Taylor, anyone would be better than Copon. In any case though, it doesn't matter to me if Taylor is not Jacob I and my sister's and all our friends have decided that we will completely give up on the Twilight movies altogether that follow and just get back to our beloved books only. Who knows even, if the other movies will get made due to lack funds from movie goers. Afterall we love our Taylor as Jacob and his role only increases in the series, and if many give up on them like we plan if they change him their success dangles at our fingers doesn't it?

I agree with cyn. I've read all the books SEVERAL times. Jacob needs to transform toooooo much to keep Taylor (sorry Taylor). I think they should use Taylor a little in the movie at the beginning though to show what he looked like when Bella first moved to Forks to emphasize the drastic physical changes he goes through. Also, everyone, don't worry about Taylor's career. There has been such an outcry for him, I'm sure he will star in a movie of his own very soon. He's dreamy.

I agree. Taylor is just not mature physically to play the grown up Jake. It is not like he would only make short appearances like Twilight he his a main character in New Moon I just don' t think he can pull it off.

I am not for Taylor keeping the part. What I am all for however, is making sure MICHAEL COPON DOESN'T get the part. He has done nothing as far as I can see that proves he is WORTHY, let alone CAPABLE, to play the part of Jacob. All he has done so far is trash talk Lautner who did an amazing job as a younger Jacob.


I didn't really find Jake all that appealing in the series until Breaking Dawn, and it made me look at him in a whole new light. Honestly if they do not get Jacob right in the movies, they will not reflect an accurate portrayal of the werewolf so many people have grown to appreciate [whether they agree with him going after Bella or not.] Team Edward, Team Jacob, and Team Switzerland needs to stick together and make a statement reflecting even more so, than we have already done, for our unhappiness with the current rumors going around about replacing Taylor with Copon.



I could go on for hours about my feelings towards this topic, so I will shut up and let someone else continue where the rest of us left off.

I agree with cyn. I've read all the books SEVERAL times. Jacob needs to transform toooooo much to keep Taylor (sorry Taylor). I just really hope Kristen steps her acting game up. I read the entire book series after seeing Twilight and I thought that Kristen didn't do a great job portraying Bella. She puts way too much of her own personality into that role. Yes, Bella is kinda awkward and clumsy, but she is also sweet and nice and more expressive. Bella didn't smile hardly at all in the movie. Bella was, well, DRY in the movie. I'm not worried about this whole Jacob mess. I am worried about the part where she's left the in the woods. I want to feel for the character in that part, but I will be prepared for mediocre acting.

I have nothing against Taylor but keeping him as Jacob doesn't make sense. He looks like Bella's baby brother (cute baby brother). Personality wise he turns from this shy guy to this cocky one. He and Bella have moments when they almost kiss. I just can't picture and I've tried they are mismatched. I just can't see Taylor going up against Edward. I think the movie should stay true the book whoever plays the part. I've been on youtube watching fan trailers and think Steven Strait really could pull it off.

You guys im sure hes a saint to all his fans but hes not Jacob Black, not just with his size and i dont care how dreamy he is, or w/ his personality. You put alot of who you are into your character and it shows through to the audience, whether its suppose to or not, you cant teach someone to be edgy or not give af*ck thats something you get on your own, and i dont think he'll pull off Jacobs character. I really dont wanna take any chances either, cuz i really like Jake, all of him yes Huge, Tall, sunny, funny, a reckless hard ass that has it in for the bloodsuckers, is stubborn but at the same time has a real heart, and wants Bella. Dont you guys even remember the books, your arguments are pretty weak and i hope the director and casting crew sees through that, and all the tantrums about boycotting the film. Anyway when it gets down to it a funny question i asked myself, Thats made me come to the conclusion i have, is who i thought Jacob would want to be portrayed as, (Snapped EMILY hes fictional) -- But ibet hed say something like--- wwwo hold it i aint nobodys shark and lava girl lets just rule that one out completely. I dont know, or care what that means, but I have a reputation. Please no child stars either im no ones breakout role. -- But in all seriousness, hes gotta be huge duh, hes gotta be a stud duh no question ladies, and hes gotta be able to show me at my worst and my occasional best moments.--" And im standing by it, Taylors not right for this role hes not the devil but hes not no Jacob Black either, and not at all how i pictured him and how hes described, that matters of course. If Edward was Puerta Rican , 4'9 w/ a balding spot youd all throw a fit, and its not fair just bcuz Taylor has some crazy fangirls who create polls and problems, i dont get to see the Jake I imagined, was written, and see someone do justice to him. They shouldn't just keep this guy on just cuz his fanbase is completely out of line on this, and want HIM and Only Him as Jacob, even though a nearsighted person could see hes not right. (Objectively) Im for and am totally hoping for Steven Strait .. Yes hes freakishly like Jake and muy caliente if thats whats worrying you guys, will play him. I want to feel for the character in that part, but I will be prepared for mediocre acting.

You guys im sure hes a saint to all his fans but hes not Jacob Black, not just with his size and i dont care how dreamy he is, or w/ his personality. You put alot of who you are into your character and it shows through to the audience, whether its suppose to or not, you cant teach someone to be edgy or not give af*ck thats something you get on your own, and i dont think he'll pull off Jacobs character. I really dont wanna take any chances either, cuz i really like Jake, all of him yes Huge, Tall, sunny, funny, a reckless hard ass that has it in for the bloodsuckers, is stubborn but at the same time has a real heart, and wants Bella. Dont you guys even remember the books, your arguments are pretty weak and i hope the director and casting crew sees through that, and all the tantrums about boycotting the film. Anyway when it gets down to it a funny question i asked myself, Thats made me come to the conclusion i have, is who i thought Jacob would want to be portrayed as, (Snapped EMILY hes fictional) -- But ibet hed say something like--- wwwo hold it i aint nobodys shark and lava girl lets just rule that one out completely. I dont know, or care what that means, but I have a reputation. Please no child stars either im no ones breakout role. -- But in all seriousness, hes gotta be huge duh, hes gotta be a stud duh no question ladies, and hes gotta be able to show me at my worst and my occasional best moments.--" And im standing by it, Taylors not right for this role hes not the devil but hes not no Jacob Black either, and not at all how i pictured him and how hes described, that matters of course. If Edward was Puerta Rican , 4'9 w/ a balding spot youd all throw a fit, and its not fair just bcuz Taylor has some crazy fangirls who create polls and problems, i dont get to see the Jake I imagined, was written, and see someone do justice to him. They shouldn't just keep this guy on just cuz his fanbase is completely out of line on this, and want HIM and Only Him as Jacob, even though a nearsighted person could see hes not right. (Objectively) Im for and am totally hoping for Steven Strait .. Yes hes freakishly like Jake and muy caliente if thats whats worrying you guys, will play him. I saw him and i was like, what wooo backup and freeze whos this guy ? i really feel that alot of you guys'd like him too, if youd get off your taylor or death high horse and realize that someone else could be unbiasedly awesome for this role. Some of you guys have been living under a rock. I bet you strait guys are still looking at that old picture of Strait from way back in 2005 with the long hair. Go search at current picures before talking. Taylor is not sharkboy anymore, hell he doesn't even look anymore like he did in Twilight! Strait looks too old for the part already otherwise don't you think when Catherine Hardwicke was doing Twilight they would of made clear something to the effect of 'ok, ppl, Taylor will play Jacob in Twilight and when we get the green light for the next movie it will be plyed by strait.' But no they did not even if StphenieM. had input in the movie making decisions. They obviously agreed he wasn't right for the part anymore.

I have nothing against Taylor but keeping him as Jacob doesn't make sense. He looks like Bella's baby brother (cute baby brother). Personality wise he turns from this shy guy to this cocky one. He and Bella have moments when they almost kiss. I just can't picture and I've tried they are mismatched. I just can't see Taylor going up against Edward. I think the movie should stay true the book whoever plays the part. I've been on youtube watching fan trailers and think Steven Strait really could pull it off.

I saw Steven in his last roles and I see him looking way too old for this part, he looks older than Edward/Rob and I think they are the same age. Just Google him to see. BUT, I half-heartedly agree with you on your point . Actually I, if they make the mistake of not keeping Taylor, anyone would be better than Copon. In any case though, it doesn't matter to me if Taylor is not Jacob I and my sister's and all our friends have decided that we will completely give up on the Twilight movies altogether that follow and just get back to our beloved books only. Who knows even, if the other movies will get made due to lack funds from movie goers. Afterall we love our Taylor as Jacob and his role only increases in the series, and if many give up on them like we plan if they change him their success dangles at our fingers doesn't it?

Taylor Is perfect as Jacob. He actually grows at the same speed as Jacob. The proof is in his picures! Go to the search engine for this website and type 'Taylor Lautner's Growth Spurt' , click on that article.They have a series of pictures of Taylor from 2007 to present, a span of just one year. It's amazing how much he has changed! We may actually see Taylor grow in reality just as Jacob did in the books. If he grew and changed in one year as we see in those pictures then it will be the same as they film the movie since it takes one year too. If they make the mistake of changing to an older looking actor how are they going to make him look young in the beginning. I would think it would be harder and goofier looking to try to make an older man look younger.

WOAH!!! I love the new Jacob!!! Although I loved Lautner in Twilight, I certainly agree that he is not the correct size for New Moon (without having add more fake stuff upon him.. hence the wig). Steven is a Honey!!! I think thats a good choice. I just hope that steven keeps to the character and not change too much

OMG!! I am soo mad they better NOT replace him! He is like the best person to play him!! Ok so before I saw the movie or even knew they were going to make a Twilight movie, I read the first book. I got the books from my aunt but I only had time to read the first one before she needed them back...so I only had read the first book before seeing the movie. I absolutly LOVED the movie and thought it was better than the book...I'm sorry but that's the truth. And because I LOVED the movie so much I just had to read the rest of the books.(I just finished reading Breaking Dawn two days ago) But what I loved about reading the books after the movie was I could picture all the characters. I will be so skrewed up if they replace the Jacob character! I will be SOOOOO ANGRY!! And I am sure that if they replace Taylor then this new director guy(I'm not to happy about this guy either) will totally pay for it. He will be hated by sooo many people.

I absolutly LOVED the movie and thought it was better than the book...I'm sorry but that's the truth. And because I LOVED the movie so much I just had to read the rest of the books.(I just finished reading Breaking Dawn two days ago) But what I loved about reading the books after the movie was I could picture all the characters. I will be so skrewed up if they replace the Jacob character! I will be SOOOOO ANGRY!! And I am sure that if they replace Taylor then this new director guy(I'm not to happy about this guy either) will totally pay for it. He will be hated by sooo many people.

Ok LIsten carefully ppl! It doesn't matter how much you like STeven strait. HE IS NOT JACOB! Dont you think that by now with New Moon coming out if Steven Strait had any chance of being Jacob someone would have said something (and by someone I mean stephenie or chris or someone from Summit). I'm sorry to dissappoint all of you but it is not going to happen. Taylor did an amazing job as Jacob and if Summit had any sense they would stick with what works. TAYLOR TAYLOR TAYLOR!!! besides this michael copon guy is an arrogant moron who doesn't know sh*t about the Twilight Series (if you want proof go see the article: Michael Copon gives Taylor Lautner a hard time in interview) so if Summit knows whats good for this movie franchise they will rehire Taylor because I'm not paying to go see Michael Copon's sorry ass ruining the series i've come to love.

I agree that Taylor should stay. While watching Twilight we got a glimps of the Cullens making an agreement with Jacobs grandfather. The grandfather - who was also a werewolf - was shorter than the Cullens. What's the big deal?

ye i am rly happy cos maybe the quality of the film might be a little better - the effects
but the acting will be the same

the idea about replacing Tylor is bad but i can c y because of the physical changes that have to hapen

hopefully they will think of a way round it becos he is a good actor and will definatley be good in the next film :)
