I think Chris will do a better job with the sparkling in NM, I'm hoping that this time Edward will truly dazzle us. As long as they don't use that stupid sparkling sound effect again...
But hopefully it won't be too, too different. I'm expecting CW's NM end product to be way better but I hope it has some, just some, similarities to Twilight so it doesn't seem like a totally different place, Forks and their homes, with completely different character looks.
They were awful!

it was excatly how i imagined. eveyone has a different thought abou things when reading the books, like what some characters looked like.(i know that Aro in New Moon looks just like i imagined him to, well picked!) So i think that you can't knock it as they can't catter for everyones images of what someone sparkles like. If Stephanie approves it, it must look like what she imagined !

reason 2: in the first book when edward is trying to locate bella in Port A. from those guys....he really really wants to go and find her but is really afraid of even light reflecting off his skin.....if it was subtle then he would have risked following her scent thru the shadows.
and reason 3: WHEN breaking dawn is a movie...and they on thier honeymoon...they wouldn't need a privite island in the middle of nowhere if it was subtle in my opinion. (Besides the fact they have the money to buy an island)
they should just save a little extra so eventually it can be EVEN MORE spectacular thru bellas NEW eyes as a vampire.....
sorry ...i got carried away....and yes i refuse to believe in anything else besides THERE WILL BE A BREAKING DAWN MOVIE

Although, I could have done with out the sparkling sound effects as well... those were unnecessary.
Is it just me or did you ever picture him shine really bright, like not like glitter but more powerful?
I loved how he looked when they were laying on the grass and sun shows. He really looked like a stone that glitters.
I think they'll certainly try to do something else...and hopefully improve it.
It looked how I pictured it & ^^^the fan art looks the same as it was in the movie. They should keep it the same
and NO don't make it "more powerful" that's just over doing it cause Now that would really be cheesy just take out or improve the sparkling sound affect geez

A few months ago, I swore that if somehow, someway, I could be in the right place at the right time, I would write Eclipse and Breaking Dawn...
I've still got my fingers crossed for Breaking Dawn...(naturally, I'm watching all the comments very closely on how to actually go about turning this book into a movie, just in case I get super lucky.)

As far as the sparkles go...I think anything would be an improvement over the sweaty look they used in Twilight.

Hopefully with New Moon, Edward will not look as if he fell into a barrel of glitter and wind chimes. However I can't complain too much with Twilight. They worked with what they could on their budget.

Thats exactly what ran through my head when I watched Twilight. Since when do we have vampires w/ glistening sounds effects?! I mean come on here ppl! LMAO That was horrible!!
I always imagined it as being something soooo incredibly extraordinary that there would be NO way you could risk any human seeing you in the sunlight. That they would go running to the police and start freaking out. I mean it has to be something big .. thats how Edward tries to get himself killed in NM.
Whatever it should be .. I truly have confidence that Chris will hit it dead on. It will be great. Or your money back!!! baahahaha They totally should have a guarantee on this stuff! : P

I pictured it a couple of ways. at first i thought His skin would be opal-like

then i pictured it as if he had millions of microscopic prisms making up his skin.

Honestly, if I walked into a meadow and saw some guy radiating glitter like a damn child's craft project I would laugh. To me, the whole thing's ridiculous anyway so if they want to abandon that whole track and put the money in something else, I would be totally fine.
But alas, if they did take it away, I'm sure many people would be upset because it is a crucial element but I don't understand how they're supposed to make it better. What else can you do? Make digitally-rendered sparkles? The whole thing's laughable.

looked sallow and it didn't look good with the sparkling effects. I really hope they don't use that strange noise for the
sparkling either. Besides that I think it will be okay. =D
The idea of a boy who sparkles in itself is beyond cheesy, let alone trying to recreate it in real life. Best of luck to Chris Weitz.
Anytime any one of the vamps sparkle in the saga I'm like, "Ugh not again! Go indoors, please." It doesn't help that after the movie I always have the damn sound effect ringing in my ears as I read it, too!
